Here's my 36mm rolex. I don't find it too heavy nor bulky but then i got a bigger wrist. My advice is to get what your mom truly loves.

I don't think you can go wrong! Nothing worse then not being able to read the time...very frustrating.Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I plan on getting her the 36. I'd still like to upgrade her to a fluted bezel watch but I should get her what she wants!

I am 60 and can no longer read the date on my 26mm unless I am in very bright light. It has a white face so I can still read the time LOL. My everyday watches are either a Rolex 36 Datejust or a Steel Submariner. Much better on my eyes!
