The one I was looking at was the brick colorblock, and the slip pockets did not feel like suede at all. When you read the description on the website there is no mention of suede, only pebbled leather and glove tanned leather. I even asked the SA about and she agreed it felt like microsuede. It makes sense if you think about it, how do you make a bag lighter?

not sure about brick red but the amazon green is definitely suede inside and on the outside side panels.

It may be a thinner suede lining being used, not as thick suede as previously. but if it truly isn't suede, then Coach's website is misrepresenting the materials, as further into the description, it does indicate fabric and suede lining.

Oh, I missed that, thank you! While I'm glad to hear it's real, it is disappointing that it clearly is a lesser quality than before. It felt like the faux microsuede that was in the Parkers.

I compared the rogue lining to my microfiber lined beat bag and the rogue pockets are definitely suede, maybe a thinner suede to make lighter. Then I compared the back part of the compartments (not the front wall) and don't notice any difference compared to my Harmony bags or any generations of my other 25s. The front wall I definitely notice a difference.

The website does describe it as having suede and fabric lining. Unless that is an error.

Only major difference I notice is the stitching for the zipper opening is thinner on the new versions. Also they took out the inner zip pocket, but added slip pockets to the outer compartments. Not sure if zipper/zipper pull would help to reduce weight too. If I had a shipping scale I would weight the different generations because I really don't notice a weight difference.

I had a black 25 on hold at my local boutique, SA told me it was microsuede to save on weight. I was not impressed and it didn't feel anywhere as nice as the stardust rogue I was carrying. I think I am safe from buying anything new for awhile.

I went into my closet to feel my Rogues (I have 5 different ones- 3 of the 30 size, 1 in 25 and 1 satchel, all 2nd gen.) Now visualize me in a closet feeling up my handbags, lol!

Not one of my suede linings felt the way the this one on display felt. Mine are much smoother/softer and more substantial than the current model. Perhaps this display model just got a bad patch of suede? Maybe, but it did not feel like the suede I'd expect from Coach.

I didn't do a deep comparison of current to before, the only honest reason I looked at it was because of dh. He brought it over to show me. I did think the pebbled leather felt similar, which was good but then felt the suede and got disappointed. I didn't even look in the center compartment. I was there to compare the Willow shoulder bag and Beat bag, and dh interrupted me!

The amazon one on display I felt up at Dillards had a very dry feel to it, the suede lining wasn't as luxe as my other bags. The one I received from Coach does not feel as dry. Maybe it varies by batch? It definitely won't stop me from buying the amazon if I can catch it on sale.

To be fair I don't think many bags can compare to that gorgeous stardust rogue of yours

it is funny, this is how Coach describes it, velvety is not the word I would use:

A Closer Look
The best kind of mix up. This compact design combines Natural Pebble Leather with velvety suede and our buttery soft Glovetanned Leather.

From the leather perspective, I definitely prefer the 1941 25's, outside pebbled leather, zipper strips, and interior suede (and clochette). I guess it will depend on what colors they do offer going forward. I enjoy the brick red primarily for the color scheme and was able to pick the one I wanted after closely examining a couple in person at the store. Maybe the pebbled leather will soften up a bit more, but I can't imagine it will ever equal the feel from the 1941's.

But I am also trying to limit the number of rogues (and bags) I end up with, so this actually does help me rein it in better. :noworry:

Wondering how many more of the sold out styles (e.g. amazon green and brick red, etc.) Coach will end up making to have them go to sales, or just stop while they're ahead and folks having bought them with no discounts....

I take back what I said regarding the Amazon Green rogue having suede. After comparing it to my older rogues and microfiber in some of my other bags, I realized it’s not suede. An SA in NY confirmed this. It is really false advertising on Coach’s part, although it does make the bag lighter and easier to clean. But I think I’m only buying the leather lined rogues from now on. It was also confirmed the Basquiat rogues are suede so not sure why this latest generation was changed.
