No, they are not removable. I think the are set slightly higher & they fold over the outside flat, which previous versions have not, at least not easily.
Thanks! That's why I got rid of mine. I couldn't bring myself to remove them, but hated the way they sagged and ruined the leather when they tried to lay on the outside of the bag. I got tired of making sure to place them perfectly across the top of the bag all the time so I got rid of the bag. It wasn't worth the hassle.
If you let the handles hang in front there is a bit of a gap so the handles don't lay against the leather but lay flat if that makes sense. You will start to deform the edge though where the hinges sit doing it this way. The outer pockets are gusseted and more spacious so you could tuck the handles in and still have room for other things. Tucking in doesn't really hinder use of the slip pockets either imo, not sure about indentations inside as I just let the handles hang outside.

I went to Dillard's yesterday to see the 2 new Rogue 25s and they are stunning in person. I love the dark green colorblock!

I think I'm leaning towards the swinger charm now. It'll add some color to my mostly solid bags. They are too cute though and kind of ok with them being smaller than the tabby
