I'm going to chime in, too! I love all my rogues but for some reason the regular rogue is my least favorite shape even though I have more of those than the others. I think it is because of the straps not being long enough on the regular rogue and a tiny bit smaller than I would like. The pros and cons according to my opinion are:For those of you who have both the Rogue and the Rogue satchel, do you prefer one over the other? Why? I love my Rogues and am debating a satchel, but wonder if I would love it as much. The satchel size seems perfect for me, but I only saw them a long time ago in the store. It might have been the larger one as I thought it was big and wasn't attracted to it. I would love to hear some thoughts.
Rogue Satchel Pros:
- Nice amount of interior space with room to add other items such as a water bottle (don't typically like to do this in case it leaks but there is room).
- Can easily sling it over my shoulder if need to be hands free
- No exposed suede to worry about weather
- Classic colors - I have chalk, oxblood, black w/whipstitch handle, both denim and grey with snake handles, and butterscotch w/ snake accents. Surprisingly, denim is my most fave in this line up.
- Can use the novelty straps to change up the look. The straps attach along the back side of the bag and because they are both on the same side, it lays better when carrying this way.
Rogue Satchel Cons:
- While a pro, also sometimes a con to be a little on the big size. I don't have the larger version of this bag but contemplate getting one for travel.
Regular Rogue Pros:
- Multiple of options for purchase. I have the most in this style due to availability.
- Decent size for all day
- Side sections are good for phones or items needing easy access
Regular Rogue Cons:
- Shoulder straps aren't quite long enough IMO especially in winter with coats.
- Exposed suede can be impacted by sudden weather changes
- Sometimes I feel it could be a teeny bit larger to accommodate items easily and lend room to add an item here and there along the day.
- I haven't connected shoulder straps to go Xbody because I feel this bag is too big and heavy for that and don't want to ruin the clasps doing this. They can get pulled on and then difficult to open. I bought a used bag where this is evident.
- Can't use the novelty bag straps to make shoulder carry easier. Makes the bag wonky IMO.
Rogue 36 Pros:
- Love the size but haven't taken mine out for a spin yet - note to self....put on To Do List! I feel these are more fall/winter bags for some reason. Guess I don't like to be weighed down in summer.
- Classic colors - Have saddle and olive with python handles and have the blue suede one. Yes, my hardware is starting to pit on the blue suede but I can live with it for the beauty of the bag.
Rogue 36 Cons:
- You'd have to not mind a larger bag and could get heavy.
- Haven't used to be able to comment on the straps but hear they are a little longer making shoulder carry easier.
Rogue 25 Pros:
- Love this size for weekends as it fits all the necessities easily
- Can connect the shoulder straps to go crossbody but this is also a con
- Cute colors to choose from
Rogue 25 Cons:
- Straps not long enough for shoulder carry unless maybe in summer.
- Connecting straps to go Xbody can damage the mechanisms and they get stuck. They also dig in to your shoulder by the end of the day.
- Optional purchase novelty straps don't work well because the bag tilts funny due to where it connects - IMO. But would work best on this regular rogue size.
I also love my two Rogue Totes but use those for lugging things to the office. I'd have to get used to carrying as a day bag.
I don't have the Rogue 39 or Rogue Shoulder Bag.
I think I have enough rogues.....don't you! I need to weed some out and sell. But who will be on the chopping block???? They are all so beautiful!
I'm looking for a style that would be classic for the office. My opinion is the pebbled leather has a more casual look to it and wouldn't wear it in say the financial services industry with a suit to a meeting. I would prefer something like the Cooper, Drifter or Grace bags.
Good luck with your decision! You will love the rogue no matter which one you purchase!
