Yeah, that is what I understand most of the luxury brands do- burn what they do not sell. You will never see LV on sale for instance and I know it is the policy of Hermes to destroy what they cannot sell at retail or during one of their tightly controlled sales. They do offer employees these items at deep discounts but on an SA salary, there is just so much they can unload. You are right, it would be nice for unsold goods to go to charity.

Charity or with the push for environmental awareness maybe even repurpose them, the leather is still usable. Maybe do like hermes wear they use the different silk scraps to create unique seasonal bag charms or whatnot. I would buy it certainly helps a bit from everything going completely to waste if shredding is what they do. But I'll ask the store and outlet on my next to find out just a bit more ;)

They probably destroy the items to recoup the import duty (taxes). The US has a duty recovery program which allows importers recover most of the duty they paid on items if they destroy or export the items. The tax write off for donations probably isn't as substantial as the duty they recoup by destroying the items.

I know Hermes used to burn what they do not sell unless they have been shamed into being more eco/charity- conscience. They cannot have the reputation of shipping to outlets or discounters such as Ross or Marshalls if they want to maintain their exclusivity and clientele. It is the same with St. Louis crystal- a lot of it is broken/destroyed because the pieces must be perfection. And they do not sell seconds. I got this from information from insiders years ago.

It is really more to maintain the exclusivity of the brand. Clients would not tolerate spending what a luxury car costs for a handbag (ie., Birkin or Kelly) if they knew they were being discounted at some point. It is the culture of ultra-luxury brands I am afraid not taxes.

For Hermes, yes. LV, I'm sure the duty plays apart. LV isn't as exclusive as it once was, its everywhere.

I love this variation for both the Rogue Tote and dinky. Was intending to wait till the Fall collection launch to purchase the bigger sized Rogue Tote but do you think a guy would be able to pull off this size though? View attachment 3628402

And this rogue 25 stole my heart too. Will definitely purchase a Long strap to use this bag as a crossbody though View attachment 3628404View attachment 3628405

They both look great on you! Yes, you pull them off [emoji3]

I think the size of the tote looks fine, and I love how edgy it is  The Rogue 25 is so cute too! You don't have to buy a long strap to wear it crossbody (unless you just want to) - you can hook the two shoulder straps together to create one long one.

I absolutely love these selections. We have similar tastes. :D I think the tote looks great on you! I actually saw a post on Instagram of a guy carrying the grey one a while back, but I can't find it again...

I called my local outlet this morning and they haven't received any 1941 items and aren't sure if they will because they are too 'small of a store'. I think she was talking market wise rather than actual square footage. But she did say Rogues are being sent to outlets because she has talked to managers of other outlets. From what she knew, Rogues are there, but not in great numbers so far.....just a few here and there. But she doesn't know about all stores.
