I was petting one of them but didn't open it up to examine the pattern, it was really soft like the cashmere shawls, BUT... it was HEAVY!! probably because of all the beading, so I didn't bother opening them up. I was thinking what's going to happen when it's folded up and the beading gets rubbed against the cashmere, wouldn't that create a lot of runs and pulls???

You would be so proud of me CG~~ I came home empty handed:p DH and I didn't have to wait in line to get in at 2PM, but the line to pay was sooo long and was not moving at all. I was going to get a couple of scarf rings and some pochette and scarves but didn't really feel I HAD to have them. I'm so glad I didn't take DH up on his offer to line up for me at 8AM~~ But I might go back tomorrow when the crowd dies down :graucho:

It is too bad Hermes cannot conduct the sale at a better location like Barney's Warehouse Sale- the line and the windowless atmosphere are a bit much and if you are at all prone to clostrophobia as I am, it can put you over the edge. It's not like there aren't beaucoup hotels with ballrooms nearby in BH. It doesn't make any difference if you go early either- there is always a line to pay. You can almost count on glitches and computers going down or customers mulling over last minute decisions at the register. I guess on the positive side, I have met some very nice people in line.

The BH sale started this morning. There were over 200 people lined up outside starting at 7AM. The store opened at 10. I was in the store from 10am - 3PM. Tons of merch, hundreds of scarves, shoes, canvas bags, leather bags, St. Louis, and other home merch. Also ready to wear. The discounts were from 40%-70%. My SA told me that they are getting new stock every day. The sale ends this Saturday.

Hmmm. i was there shortly after 8am on opening day and there weren't more than 15 people in line. i know this because i was number 15. when we went in at a little past 10, i don't believe there were 200 people waiting. i point this out only because no one should be dissuaded by lines. definitely worth the trip!

it is the line INSIDE to the register bank that dissuades me from going first day. I know on subsequent days there is not a problem checking out. Glad to hear that they did not require scarves be left in a bag at the register like in Feb- that was stupid and a turn-off.

doloresmia, did you peek at the omnibus or the travel plume by any chance? (colors or price) TIA! :flowers:

Sorry pug*shoes - i did not peek at the prices of any bags other than the PB that i tried. however, i recollect large signs that said 40-60% off retail and know that the PB i tried was 60% off. i would assume the travel bags were the same. my assumption could be wrong, though.... 40% is still good to me....

You bring up a very good point if i read your note correctly, people should NOT bring their hand bags into the sale. boo mentioned this earlier, just a wallet with a credit card (they do not take cash). in Feb. they checked bags downstairs, but this year they were telling people they had to take bags back to their cars.

Thank you! :flowers:

Sorry to be a pest, but do you remember what colors they were? TIA

NOT AT ALL! i would want to know as much as possible too! i only positively remember a graphite travel plume or victoria (held by man next to me, i moved on before i saw whether he bought), a gold travel PB (sold to a lady in check out in front of me), and vaguely remember a comb in white and chocolate, but could be wrong. the baby omnibus were in orange and other colors. gosh i wish my memory were better for you. if you are anywhere near BH, just take a trip, very fun regardless.

Is the sale definitely happening through Saturday? I'd really like to take a look at the Saint Louis items they have. I don't need any, but 70% is too good of a mark-up to let pass.

I think the sale goes through Sat....

Yeah... the line to pay was worse than Disneyland because it moves soooooo slowly~~haha~

I saw a girl being told by security that they can't check in the birkin she had. Probably will need her friend to watch it for her or take it back to her car.

The Omnibus were mostly gold, brown colors. I think there was a bi color gold with orange piping that I thought was kinda cute. Didn't see the large travel bombay...

I just thought of something.... Cavalier Girl~maybe you need to get 2 of those shawls, one to Look at and use the other one.... hahah~ that way, you won't have to worry about ruining it!! hahah~ I'm so smart!! hahah~
