I felt the grained calfskin, too, and it's nowhere near as supple and luxurious as the original smooth calfskin.

The croc-embossed leather version here looks like the same leather on my Neo Classic (even the colour!). It's very soft but a bit plasticky to the touch. Did this croc-embossed leather on the Rodeo feel a bit like that too? I wonder if it's the same leather.

Yeah it definitely looks soft, but in reality, not so much. I was a bit disappointed.

It did feel a bit plasticky- not a fan but it looks nice. My fave is still the Cowboy. It's soooo buttery.

For any blue lovers out there like me I got some clarity from a SA. The distressed dark blue seen on various websites in the mini with charms, small, and medium with charms are all the shade “Marine Blue” but but some of the other stockists refer to it with their own description which is why navy is written instead. For all intents and purposes it’s the same color Marine Blue across the different sizes and all have the distressed effect.

Thank you for posting these photos! I'm looking to add a small rodeo in black but can't decide between grained or smooth. I really like the brushed gold hardware. I'm rationalizing a second rodeo in black/grained to be my more "care free" everyday bag compared to my smooth mini. I guess I want the best of both worlds lol.

I totally get it! The smooth definitely feels more luxe. The grained isn't as soft as I would have liked but maybe it would soften over time with use.

As you might be able to tell from my previous posts, I’m obsessed with a navy blue Rodeo. My Medium Marine Blue literally just arrived.

Some notes about the release as of now:
-Marine Blue is currently available in Mini, Small, Medium. All sizes have the distressed effect.
-Medium is only sold with charms.

I hesitated because I didn’t want a pre-distressed bag (I can bang it up on my own) and I wasn’t a big fan of the charms because I would rather decorate with my own personal touch instead of generic Balenciaga charms.

I didn’t see the bag in person but a SA sent me a photo so I got a better look at the color. I was surprised to see the distressing is actually kind of minor and not as distracting as I expected. It moreso encourages me to not baby the bag rather than what I was worried about which was the look of the intentional destruction that looks very manufactured. The leather does feel soft and the slouch falls naturally.

I also didn’t love paying extra for the charms since I’d likely remove them but I will say some of the colors in the charms go nicely with the blue for anyone who likes the Balenciaga charms. Also this rodeo comes with a functioning lock with keys on one of the charms which is a nice touch. So if I am paying for charms I’m happy for those lock and keys.

Going to have to test drive this bag but based on appearance I’m overall happy.
