You're killing me with this :crybaby: Beautiful story though.

I was ugly crying earlier. I was a mess when she died, add in Emma the pony or the corgies who were apparently looking for her in Balmoral and my composure is gone. I'm also not over the loss of my childhood pony earlier this year.

I will always remember standing less than an arm's length from the Queen when at Windsor Horse Show. She was wearing white and red and diamonds, very unusual for her to be all 'dolled-up at the WHS. Of course it was in her Diamond Jubilee, and she really looked regal.

I will also remember the rainbow over Buckingham palace the day she passed-away 🌈 It felt like a final and magical hand-wave

:crybaby:

A few pictures from our visit to Windsor Castle, although they hardly do it justice. Seeing the Queen's burial site was really special. We also did the Conquer the Tower Tour and had great views of the surrounding area. Pictures are not allowed inside any of the royal palaces, which is probably a good thing. We got so sick of influencers taking selfies everywhere.

I was in London during her Platinum Jubilee, the love the Brits had for their queen could be felt everywhere!

Very shortly after she had died a reporter took to London streets and asked people if they had heard. Many had not, and several of them - including tourists - broke into tears. She was something else.

I hope this is the right place for it - there is a new book out about The Queen - Q: A Voyage Around the Queen by Craig Brown.
In case you are tempted for a read - check out The New Yorker’s review of it and it is in their list of Best Books We’ve Read in 2024 so far.
