Seem the SA is not very nice…..unfortunately you have paid otherwise I would advise you to find another one. Maybe he/she see that you are the type of person who can get coerce into a settlement and try to take advantage of it. No one in their sane mind would pay for 2 just for comparison! I‘m not sure VCA will refund you in cash but not store credit, if later you are tied up with the store and hv to find sth to use the credit lol

I have paid for 2 (and more than once!) just for comparison. It is worth it to me to be able to choose my favorite shade. In most cases, it’s not that the sales associate is playing games, it’s that the item will be sold very quickly to a customer, so it needs to be paid for in order to reserve it for comparison purposes. For items that are in lower demand, or if the store happens to have multiples, they are happy to let me choose from what they have on hand without prepaying. It may be unfortunate, but it is normal.

Oic it never happens to me so I find such request rather odd … but good to know it’s not uncommon but then did u get a refund in cash or store credit for the extra bracelet you paid for comparison ?

It is normal in the USA, because stock is typically so low. When I purchase in UK/Europe they usually have multiple items for me to choose from or can bring them in. Yes, in the USA the SA is perfectly clear that the one/or both that I don’t want will be refunded to my card, and they always are. I have only needed to do this with Carnelian Guilloche and with Holiday Pendants, since the stock is low and I want a certain shade, otherwise I can only choose from whatever they happen to have at the moment.

Like other magic earrings, they are not discontinued but cannot be ordered either. They mythically appear every once in a while for the lucky few who are offered it.

I desire the dark blood red also and agree with nicole that the rg would be wonderful to enhance this shade. I really don't care for the shade shown in the VCA product shots that have been posted for this new launch so I am trying not to get my hopes up too high. There is huge variation in the product pics on the website even on the standard carnelian pieces.
My SA has known me for years and can basically read my mind at this point so I know she knows exactly what I want. This is just one of those stones that you need to see in person. Just a few more days ladies- if the color is right this is going to be a knockout set!

I must admit when the guilloche was first introduced awhile back, I was a bit slow to warm up to it. The traditionalist in me resisted the design. But my SA persisted and persuaded me to keep an open mind. I tried on the 10 motif yg and liked it. My SA smiled and said "wonderful, I knew you would like it but I am not going to let you buy it. There is something coming that I know you will prefer even more" and that was the yg alternating pave 20 which I bought and LOVE. That is why I know I would really enjoy this new limited edition.

I decided this week to sell my love bracelet to get the carnelian and guilloche five motif after falling in love with it recently. When I checked the resale market after seeing it sold out on the website but they were all almost 2K over retail. I then started calling stores to find stock, the first store near me said they had no five motif bracelets in stock at all. Which didn’t surprise me because we’re coming up on the holidays and my experience is it’s harder to find stock this time of year especially if you’re a once in a while client. The second store I called on Thursday had only one and I asked if I could purchase it on the phone but come in to get it on Saturday and they actually told me they’d hold it longer than their 24 hour policy for me so I can come in for an appointment and see it in person before purchasing which I thought was super nice of them. I saw someone say the hunt is part of the fun and that’s def true because it felt so good being able to get one at retail pricing and not having to turn to the resale market haha. So I’m going to my appointment tomorrow and I’m really excited, I’m worried about not liking the color carnelian but I also know stock is limited. Does anyone know if this bracelet is more limited stock than the others? I’m kind of curious why some pieces are so much over retail on the resale market compared to others.

Yes!! It looked very brown on the black pad in the store but is a lot more reddish in sunlight. It’s definitely a darker stone but it’s so pretty I just fell in love with it. It’s pretty similar to the color of my sweet carnelian necklace which I’m very happy with.

I just bought one at the Cannes boutique a few days ago. They had 2 of them! Never seen it before and it was love at first sight ☺️

Why does it resale so high over retail compared to other stones then? Genuinely curious if it’s just higher demand or what?
