RG Guilloche & Carnelian

OMG!! Can’t believe how hard and fast I’ve fallen for this bracelet! After not visiting the VCA website for a long time, I went to the website on Thursday and Friday, chanced upon the bracelet, fell in love, found out it’s a re-release thanks to this thread and rushed to the boutique today to take a look! Here’s mine!! So excited to get it! It’s now been sent for shortening so hope to see it back soon!

For anyone with this bracelet, does your bracelet have these gaps on the carnelian motif? I saw some posts regarding certain pieces have gaps in other threads, but I am still not sure if I should exchange it or keep it. Any thoughts?

That is within normal limits, but would bother some people, and would not bother others. It is not a safety issue for this item. You can find one with smaller air gaps than seen on this bracelet for certain, but the color looks very nice. I would personally choose color first for stones like Carnelian and blue agate. I was just shopping remotely for a bracelet with Carnelian and there were only two with the color I liked. One had visible air gaps, so I am having both shipped to me to determine in person whether the color makes up for the air gaps.

Agreed with @nicole0612, the air gap look reasonable on your motifs. I would keep it since the carnelian look like a nice, neutral shade of red which is hard to come by

Thank you both! The carnelian shade is very nice on this pair. What made me hesitant is because on one of the motif I can kind of see the gap when I wear it. Maybe because carnelian is a bit translucent, that’s why the gap is more noticeable ‍♀️

I think the air gaps look more noticeable when you're on the pale side. The one I picked out also have some air gaps, they're not noticeable imo but once sit on my arm it accentuated them It doesn't bother me enough to opt for another one though as I figured they'll look less noticeable once I get a slight tan in the summer months so there'll be less contrast against the RG/carnelian. Here's a zoomed in shot on the air gap (see top left corner of the motif & ignore the sunscreen marks lol):

My SA texted me today that the bracelet has arrived! It was definitely a hard pick for the red even they only gave me 2 to choose from. One is more saturated and one is more transparent. I like the more opaque one on the paper but I ended up choosing the more transparent one as it looks redder against my skin tone while the opaque one looks darker.

Still a bit orange in natural lighting but it’s a true red under sunlight I think. I’m just gonna keep it it’s too hard to find one in the perfect shade. Such a beautiful bracelet either way!

Thanks heaps. I had a really hard time haha - most looked orange tinted and some looked a bit brown. I felt pressure because the SA showed me quite a few of them so felt i had to choose one. And in the dim light inside the boutique it was harder to see... anyway I think I chose the most red one from the ones I've seen. I didn't realise how translucent carnelian is - the background and light makes a huge difference. DH just says they all look the same to me.... I really wish I can just relax and enjoy things... instead of obsessing over small details etc

My ring arrived this morning. I like it better than I thought I would. I have an average-size hand and think the ring sits well on it. And I like the shade of red of the carnelian—in sunlight it’s a bright red and in shadow a rich red. The stone has some translucence but the RG behind it helps it maintain a consistent color. This is my first RG and I look forward to adding to it at some point.

Congrats to everyone who got the gorgeous carnelian/guilloche pieces in RG.

Had the opportunity to pick my perfect lipstick red carnelian and needless to say I am thrilled to add the 5-motif. Can’t wait for it to come back after re-sizing.

The ring didn’t come home with me but the bracelet sure did
