I wonder whether you might like the bag with an organizer like the Samorga? I know others use them successfully with Neverfulls, Speedys, etc. to avoid the "black hole" effect.

I did try one of my organizers. Didn't work well when I kept the pouch in & when you take the pouch out, the exterior side straps come out with it. This exposes the sides if the bag & the snaps where the insert attaches. Trust me, I tried!
From what I'm hearing from @Teagaggle, it sound like they should have added buttons to the bottom of the bag to secure the pouch down. If they placed them properly around the bottom edges of the removable pouch, then that may have prevented items from slipping underneath.
However, the design will definitely work well for those who choose to store smaller items in the middle pouch and stick their books, papers, tablet, etc. on the sides of it.
I think the Bandit does really need pockets like the Market Tote/Gotham Tote on one side. There isn't any Coach 1941 branding on the core body of the Bandit, either. Once you remove the pouch, it ceases to be a Coach bag. May be hard for some to resell after they decide to move on.
I have my fingers crossed for a larger version next season. It's a great design, but it's about 85% of the way to being a perfect bag!

I agree completely with the added snaps & with your thoughts on the branding. While I don't prefer to have a designer's name front & center, classy understated branding is just right.
I appreciate your compliment as well; means a lot. I know how much I rely on all the posts here when considering a bag so if my opinion even provides details for others, that's enough!
As I said, I did return but, while not for everyone, I quite liked the color combo of this & ended up ordering the Rogue in this same color.
I'll be anxious to see how others like the Bandit. For many, it could be perfect!
Thank you for your valiant effort. If this proves to be a deal-breaker for too many, Coach will have to do something about it. Hopefully they will get on the right track sooner than later. I do love the concept at least. You did the right thing in returning it- not much point in spending so much money on a bag that does not work for you and make your life happier.
Based on this post I went and got the denim! I love it!! The leather is so smushy and it is so comfy to carry. The pouch inside is saddle.The inside...

Also fell in love with this, based on OP! So thank you for posting this bag - and so sorry it didn't work out for you. I purchased the steel blue (so I won't post another pic of it), and also the oxblood. I prefer the deep browner tone, vs the burgundy/red. I was surprised this is called oxblood, rather than cognac or dark brown. Not a good pic, but color is very rich - especially with the lining. The pouch makes the trim black - a great contrast.

This was the first one on display, and first one I grabbed to wear around the store (so comfie I had it on for over an hour, my Rogue on other shoulder, and forgot it was there). So many compliments from store personnel and customers on "my" bag. My intent was blue only, but this grew on me so much, I "needed" it too[emoji853]
Love the Denim, but already have the rogue and duffle in it. The black is nice, but lining (gold/yellow) is the same as my black rogue - so those colors are out. Both great choices though!
I'm glad to see its working out for others better than it did me. The excitement of a new bag you love is always nice!
