I love the small town mentality of helping your fellow community members when they are in need. The shared love and outpouring from the community gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling. The world is not so dark a place if we start to look for the positive experiences.

Oooh I hope you win the raffle! That is fantastic that the jeweler donated that and you are very generous and admirable to donate anonymously. Anonymous is one of my favorite words. I'm sure whoever wins will be thrilled with such a gift!

On a more serious note I wish that woman a full recovery and her family peace while she goes on that trying journey.

The funny thing is...the necklace I donated is retired and the RC Manager had been looking everywhere for it, even Ebay. I have a feeling she will bid on my donated necklace and I will bid on her donated gift certificate.
God works in mysterious ways..............:heart:

**UPDATE**
The fundraiser raised a lot of money...good news!
Bad news...no one bought my necklace. The restaurant was so packed you couldn't see the auction items and their PA system went down so they had to hand carry the items around. The "auctioneer" (I use this term loosely) never heard of Roberto Coin as did most of the people there! UGH! The RC Manager will buy it and I'll donate the money...she had been looking for it and at least she'll appreciate it. The GC went for $75. Someone got a good deal! I left before that auction...too many people!

The $1,000 gift card went for $75?! That's DEFINITELY a good deal!! I would have placed a bid, myself, had I known that! :laugh:

So glad that the auction raised a lot of money, even if very few of the bidders had heard of Roberto Coin and your lovely necklace. At least the funds will go to this woman's care and getting her the treatment that she needs.

I'll take it in this week and sell it to the RC Manager. I have my eye on the tiny treasure palm tree (larger one).
I have to remember we collect and know jewelry but most people aren't like us.
Hard to believe. LOL!

Gah! Oh I hate it when things like that gift card are unappreciated! BUT in a way it's such a nice story - SA was generous, she's scoring the find of the year for her in your necklace... and at least someone got that deal. Too funny! I'm glad you guys raised so much money!
