I live in a very small town on Cape Cod...we all have PO Boxes, so we're at the Post Office a lot. One of the PO gals was just diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Needless to say everyone was shocked and upset. It's terminal.
Her PO friends are having a fundraiser Nov.6 and Ex-DH is donating wine as a door prize. She always commented on my jewelry and we had many laughs over it! Since I could start my own jewelry store I have a ton of nice things I never wear, I decided to donate a Roberto Coin necklace. Nothing fabulous but nice and a branded name. Only problem...I didn't have all the "fancy" RC packaging. UGH!
Off I go to the RC store near my house. Lanasyogamama knows which store I'm referring to at Mashpee Commons. I know the Manager and one of the salesgals. Not only did the Manager give me ALL the packaging...even the ribbon, wrapping paper and all documentation (nice Christmas present) but a $1000. gift certificate to auction off. Even the gift certificate has fancy wrapping!!! I was shocked...what a wonderful thing to do for someone you don't even know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny...when you least expect it people really step up to the plate. Bless her heart!
Fingers crossed we make a ton of money!
Just had to share!

What a great story! It's so sweet of you to donate one of your RC necklaces, and it's wonderful that the RC store gave you all the packaging AND a gift certificate to auction! That's really amazing. It's so nice to see that there are still caring people out there who are willing to help others in times of need.

I am donating, anonymously, so only my jewelry forum beauties, here, will know but I want everyone to know about the RC store!
Hell...I will probably bid on this auction. Saw a nice little RC trinket, I'd love to get! :graucho:
