Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I know I shouldn’t say this but it almost makes want to be a reseller Lol. I imagine they make a very good living out of this? I wonder if they were stylists or personal shoppers before this craze or just random shoppers
I think you really need to commit if you want to be a reseller. They have to put in thousands to buy multiple products for their store, constantly market, and try to get the latest bag/items. I would rather have my beautiful items to enjoy & I think that there are more lucrative ways of making money.

yea I’m with you that there are more lucrative ways to make money. reselling seems too risky especially given the payment situation and how much money you have to put in upfront. It also takes time to build a good reputation so for the beginning you will just be sitting on bags that costs thousands. I’d rather just buy them. I mean in the end I will just end up keeping everything that I buy to sell for myself

Oh absolutely! I sometime wonder how they came to become a pro reseller.

Yeah it’s seems like a lot of work of coordinating with SAs, stock, take photos, etc. I’m sure they make a decent amount, but I rather spend my time doing something else and buy my bags to enjoy. An acquaintance of a friend of mine *claims* that she is a personal shopper but seems basically a reseller lol. This person recently created an IG account posting chanel bags for sale. Typical stay at home wives trying to make a quick buck at home. I wouldn’t say they are personal stylists or personal shopper. They could be of any walks of life, but definitely leaning towards those who generally don’t have typical careers.

Fashionphile buys outright and at half of retail so they are making huge profits
Agreed. Not sure what they are paying people for their minis or other bags but to turn around and list used bags (even new ones) for $1500 up to $3000 over retail at a boutique is highway robbery. It’s it not like they are banking profit on a few bags. They have thousands of Chanel bags and brands like Hermes marked up beyond crazy. I get it takes money for them to run their business but they have become greedy. It’s not that common to get a “deal” on FP like it used to be.

FASHIONPHILE holding onto that much inventory is a liability for them. There is so much marked up Chanel product on their site. Even cardholders. I hope they reduce their prices to below retail soon so they can offload that inventory. I’m sure we would all be willing to purchase from them if we didn’t feel like we were being taken advantage of. I remember when their prices used to be so competitive. Half of my chanel collection used to be from that site! Remember the frenzy of all the shoppers trying to nab a good deal?! I miss those days.

so then fashionfile is the one profiting, not people who resell on them? maybe independent resellers are the ones making any money

This is their M.O. They know pricing so even on older bags sellers are unlikely to make a profit, yet FP lists them for much higher than they buy them for. Older bags are listed close to retail for non CFs. The markup on 19s are insane.
