Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

Wow so the purseaffair is asking for more than 4 times the retail price for a used bag?? This is beyond disgusting. And now they have deleted the comments probably because they don’t want buyers to know the original retail price and hoping that some unknowing sucker will buy it.
Actually I saw on FB post that a lady paid 20K USD for the pearl bag and she was selling the pearl bag at the reduced cost of 17 or 18K plus payment plan. I don’t know how much she finally sold the bag for but I do know the pearl bag was sold probably around that price range she listed

This consignment seller is selling this satin pearl flap bag for close to 18,000USD. I don’t know the exact retail price but surely it couldn’t have been more than 10,000USD???

I’ve seen bags that are neither seasonal or discontinued or hard to get being sold for way over retail on fashionphile as well … and I used to save them just to see if they’d be sold out and they would! And somehow I always wonder which part of the world are those buyers from that they are willing to buy bags with obvious signs of wear for over retail?

New Chanel policy starting next month in the US:

1. Next month (November) the company will limit one handbag purchase per month and some store will allow only 2-3 handbags per collection to reserve.

2. Chanel stores have started using an electronic reserve system so all reservations made in non-leased locations will count toward the reservation limit.

3. Some stores will charge the items on reserve list as soon as they arrive without any notice

I think Chanel is trying to stop resellers from getting on multiple lists for hot items, but most resellers also have multiple Chanel profiles so we will see how it works out. My only concern is for #3 because I would like Chanel to have better QC or have my advisor inspect my item before charging my card

Right now it’s 2 bag a month and 12/year in US. I don’t think there’s any limit on what you can reserve.
Currently as @Zixi1000 says it's 2 bags a month but only one can be a classic. At least with the boutiques I shop at you can't purchase 2 classics in the same month. I just ran into this today. I recently purchased a navy CF that my SA has had me on a list for and I didn't realize it was rung up on 10/1 and not 9/30. I inquired about a grey CF today and was told I couldn't purchase under my profile because I already have a classic purchase for Oct. I was bummed but I heard a sigh of relief from the my DH LOL.

Edited to include: My SA also told me about the reserve limit because too many people were getting on multiple lists for multiple items. She said they (Chanel) wants to make it fair and ensure that everyone that wants to purchase has an opportunity to do so.
