So with so many threads going on, I'm hoping to provide those in line some eye candy and a heads up of what they can expect.

I went at 1:30PM on the 21st.

I ended up with:

3 Carre et Carre Scarves (royal blue/white, black/gold, and pink/khaki) - I got a bit Carre -d away!
a le astrologie scarf in khaki/orange
a aux portes de palais in pink/khaki
a citron & menth carriages twilly
a vintage 70x70 tiger royale in navy/gold
2 silky pops (brides de gala (pink/orange) & keys (brown & teal)
2 enamels - beads of kenya & class clache in green
the Annee de la danse cadena

Great haul -- congrats!!

Hi everyone! I'm back in my hotel room after an incredible day.

Here's my report, and contrary to what you may be reading on other blogs and sample sale forums, I thought there was a terrific selection of items, the shopping today was not at all frenzied, and the Soiffer Haskin and Hermes employees were gracious, cheerful, helpful, and kept things quite orderly at the sale. I felt like I had a good selection of bags (admittedly they were canvas with leather trim, but what the heck, I like the Belt and Garden Party File totes), SLGs, scarves, accessories, and jewelry to choose from. I didn't even take a peek at the apparel or beach/bath/housewares stuff because I did enough damage elsewhere.

At 6:15 I walked over to Soiffer Haskin from my hotel two blocks away, stopped for a Starbucks along the way, and fell into line about 20 people back at 6:35. I, along with DesigningStyle, audreylita, and amjac2wm were among the first in the building at 8:30, and we queued up on the stairs leading to the showroom. I think Hermes Nuttynut and fashionistaO were in the group right behind us, and as we were all getting ready to be let in, Codygirl walked past me, recognized me from my pictures and said my name, and we had a big tearful huggy greeting :hugs: before she was taken up by an associate to return the scarf to the poor SA who'd had it sold out from under her the day before. :p

Thanks to the fabulous pre-game strategy planning help from restricter, I made a commando strike and scored the following booty:
  • A small Ebene canvas Belt handbag in the PM size with Cocoan Skipper Buffalo trim and handles
  • A vintage 70cm silk of Perspective in Cassis/Rose Vif/Beige Dore
  • A vintage 70cm silk of Brandenbourgs in Vert Anis/Rose Vif/Tabac
  • A 90cm silk of Chasse en Indie in Tabac/Safran/Violet
  • A 90cm silk of Carre en Carres in Rose Indien/Cassis/Iris
  • A 90cm silk of Tout en Carre in Petrole/Vert/Gris Bleute
  • An Evelyne scarf ring in palladium
  • An Astral Manche "sleeve" leather cuff bracelet in Rouge H Veau Evercalf
  • A Tooloop keychain in Rose Shocking Chevre
  • A Clou de Selle GM ring in sterling and 14k gold
  • An Isthme leather bracelet in Potiron Box Calf
  • An Isthme leather bracelet in Noir Box Calf
  • A Sterling Silver Salto H lock/cadena
I did all of this damage in an hour.

The rest of the time was spent circling around, checking in with Codygirl (who was doing tPF angel shopping for Cavalier Girl and others), and comparing notes with fashionistaO, DesigningStyle, audreylita, and Hermes Nuttynut, who were waging their own shopping mayhem in all departments. I'll let them share their scores with y'all.

I'm still shellshocked from the whole experience.

Then we all left for lunch at Barney's in audreylita's car. Sadly, fashionistaO had to return to work to shake that money tree and did not join us.

After lunch, we made an assault on the mothership (Madison Avenue H), and audreylita and DesigningStyle underwent a little more retail therapy and picked up some fragrance samples. :D

I tried out their new jumping saddle, the Talaris, which is so new they only had one, didn't even have pricing on it yet, and it had just come in from the Hampton Classic horse show, where it had been on display for top-level equestrians to drool over. It had a carbon-fiber tree and trim, and was the most luscious Barenia you have ever stroked and fawned over, with orange contrast stitching. I died. Then I came back to life and vowed to sell my soul to get this baby...

But the final blow, the coup de grace of the day, was when we walked over to Bergdorf's to check out their scarf selection at Hermes Nuttynut's suggestion, and in a stroke of luck and fate, found...

The Tohu Bohu GM Shawl in the Petrol colorway.

I couldn't just leave it there, now could I???

This has been tough. I'm on my iPhone, and this has been a really involved process to post and upload pics on this wacky little keyboard.

CMB, that is a Jinjy-worthy haul and he's off sulking in a corner because he can't do your reveal. Are we on for Round 2?

I'll meet you there with coffee for sure, but I don't honestly think I can spend another penny without going into cardiac arrest. :p

But I'd love to be an angel for others, and enable you for round two! :D

Cakey, I was wondering (and saying prayers to the H gods) that you did well--and WOW!!!! I must say I am a little jealous--to shop and meet all the amazing TPF peeps. I wish I could have gone to the sale.

Congrats on all your fabulous finds. Wear them in the best of health!!!
