Hello. I have been trying to find information comparing the reissue 225 to 226. I have tried finding information but the comparisons are usually to the classic flaps. I have a 226 and reissue mini but am starting to think a 225 would be a good addition. It just seems like it is such a nice size. The boutique doesn’t have any in stock so I can’t do a in person comparison right now. If you have the 255 or are thinking about buying one why select it over the 226?

With the price of this bag I’m not sure I should invest in another one but I just keep thinking about it. Do you think having 3 sizes is too much?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

I have all three and the 225 is my favorite size.

Here too:

225 is a perfect size imo. I found my 226 too wide and big for my frame and for what I carry, so I sold it, and it was also too big for a nice crossbody look on me. The reissue mini was a bit too small for me inside and I sold that although the chain length was awesome. I feel like with the 225 it's perfect all-around and I don't need the other two sizes.

Thank you for the links, photos and advice.

I like the 226 because it fits everything I need to carry. It is a little large but I actually really like the size. I remember when I bought it I tried the 2.55 and found it was a little small. That was some time ago and I find I do carry less these days so I bought the mini because it is great for my essentials (but extra space is always nice). So, I am thinking that the 255 size would be a good addition because it lends itself to be casual and also it can transition for evening (being in between the mini and the 226).

The truth is I really don't need another bag but somehow I feel the 255 will offer me the classic version of the bag that is multi purpose and it seems like it is a good size (not too big or small). This is why your experience and thoughts about the bag are very helpful because I am trying to figure out if it is something I should purchase.

I have the 225 and the 226. I have considered getting the mini reissue, but have decided against it...because I want to buy a fendi mini baguette next! If I could only keep one size it would be the 225. I prefer smaller handbags and don’t carry much. I also prefer the versatility of the 225 size. It looks as good worn crossbody as it does double and single chained on the shoulder. It’s not too small for daytime use and not too large for evening use. I wear the 226 doubled chained on the shoulder mostly as it looks a bit large worn crossbody and single chained. I also dont carry the 226 out in the evening because it looks a bit large for an evening bag imo. I still love using my 226, but for me it is less versatile.

There is not much difference between the 225 and mini reissue capacity and the mini reissue is probably more comfortable to wear crossbody due to its lighter weight and lack of a double flap. As I age I find myself downsizing to smaller, more comfortable handbags. At some point I may sell my 226 and replace it with a mini reissue or maybe even sell the classic 225 size for a mini reissue. Personally, I don’t think you need the 225 size if you have the mini and the 226, unless you find that the capacity of those bags don’t work for you. Clara zeela did a great comparison video of the the three sizes. I’ll try to link it below:

Thank you for your insight into the various sizes of bag. Also thank you for the Youtube link, both are very helpful. I hear you when you say I probably don't need the 2.55. That is my dilemma. As I get older I also feel I prefer a smaller bag and think I am starting to carry less. The extra space in 2.55 seems appealing as well as its ability to go from casual day to evening. I find both the mini and 226 more casual. However, I have worn the 226 for evening and it was fine.

I think once they have the 2.55 in the boutique, I will go in and take a look. I will take my mini with me and do a comparison (as they don't always have those in stock) and see what happens. It just seems everyone who has the 2.55 seems to prefer the size. I think about potentially selling my 2.66 and replace it with the 2.55 but I just can't seem to make that decision. I find it difficult to get rid of bags even if I hardly use them.

The next thing is the hardware, I really want silver but I don't think the reissue comes in silver. That may be a unicorn that I will not be able to find and will need to settle.

I understand your dilemma and reluctance to let go of bags..especially Chanel bags. It’s wise to take your time and it’s possible that your unicorn reissue with shw will manifest! Even though I prefer the 225 over the 226, I use my 226 more often because it’s navy with rhw where as my 225 is black with ghw. I do think that if the mini reissue had been available in black with the aged ghw (not shiny ghw) when I purchased my 225, I would have went for that size. The reason I’m not bothering with selling my 225 to purchase a mini reissue is the prices have increased and I would have to pay more for the mini reissue now than I did for my 225 size! Anyway, this is a good dilemma to have! Good luck!
