Thank you! The red backpack and the green laurel bags were in pretty good shape and didn't need much besides a bath and leather cpr. The navy willis was quite dull and scuffed and it needed more work. After I gave it a bath and let it dry I treated it with leather therapy restorer and conditioner and later I gave it a couple of applications of black rocks leather n rich.

I always wait at least 24 hours between applications of conditioners to let the leather rest. When I apply conditioners I rub them in and then wipe off the excess. I use a soft horsehair brush to buff the leather and make it shine.

At the link below are the steps I use to rehab a glove-tanned leather coach bag. Good luck!

Thank you so much!

I sealed them up in plastic bags with large charcoal filters for 3 months, then I aired them out and washed them - and it actually worked!
Just won a Cost Rico 9085 from Goodwill auction site, $85.00. I have had good luck there. 9085 arrives and looks like it was never, ever used. Never. But is sure stunk, not of smoke, but of something. Googled and found some references to "tanning process" makes the leather smell. This is SN D8P-9085, so I am guessing it is circa 1998. 20 years old and tanning process smelly? I guess it's possible because it really is stinky. I washed in washing machine with Dawn and warm water on Delicate cycle. Came out plump. And stinky. I put it outside in the shade with newsprint and baking soda for a few hours. still stinky. I put it in the trunk of my car to open the leather pores and release the stink (I am in Florida so trunk gets hot). Stinks still, but maybe a wee bit less. So, I went to Home Depot, bought a bag of Gonzo, put it inside bag, put bag outside in ocean breeze...will let you all know the results.
