Stunning! Thanks so much, but it really helps when you start with good raw materials! Good luck with your Willis bag, it's a classic that is still offered for sale on the Coach website for $300! (See attachment)

I was thinking about my newer Coach bags and wondering how many of them will hold their value and utility over time. I think that my brown Ergo hobo will still be in style for many years but not my peach Kristin hobo - although I am enjoying them both right now!

Thanks for sharing. you're right - as much as I love the new bags now, I doubt they will stand the test of time like your old finds. You do such a nice job!! I've never seen one of the old bags in gray before - it's fun to learn new things on TPF.

I remember the first time I took note of Coach bags - I was in college and one of my friends had a bucket bag. I wanted one until I found out how much it cost. I thought you had to be NUTS to spend so much money on a bag. Of course, I have changed my ways.

Wow! The bags look great - you did a wonderful job making them look new again!!

On a side note - may I ask what is the teal bag in your avatar pic??? I really love it!

That's my glorious teal sydney 14614 - it truly is my HG (Holy Grail) bag!
Thanks for asking, here's a few pics, she's wonderful!

Wow katev! What a beautiful and enviable group of "Coach classics" you have. What a fabulous job you did with them. Very impressive!

I love them all..but the brown Satchel and the gray Basic Bag are just wonderful.

:smile1:

I picked up 5 older/vintage bags over the last few months at Goodwill, the Salvation Army, and one on eBay. Thank you to DemRam and Hyacinth, and all the lovely TPF authentication ladies, for identifying and authenticating these bags.

All of the bags were in pretty good shape. There were no tears or bad smells and they all had their original hangtags. They were just dusty, dirty, dull, and scuffed. Basically, all I had to do was give each of them a bath, treat them with leather conditioner, and polish up the brasses a bit. It was easy!

I didn't have time to work on rehabing them until recently so I will post the before and after pics for all of them in this thread.

The cool thing is that I only spent a total of $80 (and a little elbow grease) and I now have 5 lovely vintage bags in 5 different styles and 4 different colors (black, gray, navy, and brown). :yahoo:

Here is an "after pic" of the entire group - let me apologize for my mediocre photographic skills.

I love them all and I'd give my right arm to have your collection!

I stopped buying Coach bags when they started their Signature collection because I felt they had become too mainstream and trendy. But recently, I started to rediscover my love for Coach when I came across some classic Coach bags on eBay and Etsy that I used to own back in the nineties (in my past life, in another country).

Thanks for the wonderful memories, katev!
