This thread has inspired me to own more red bags. I forgot until this thread that one of my favorite bags ever was a generic red tote that I bought 15 years ago for my very first academic job interview out of grad school. It was fake leather and the handles started to crack just last year so I had to part with it. But it was a beautifully structured, thin tote and I always felt special when I wore it; I would get tons of compliments on it. Red is such a splendid color.

Yes! It’s Zadig & Voltaire. I love that bag. I once spilled coffee all over & literally launder the bag. The metallic embellishments kind of covers the little left over spots but the bag is still yummy! One of my favorite cross-body.

I’m looking for that perfect red handbag... the kind of red that looks great in the summer with your linens and whites, but also looks great in the winter with your greys/blacks/wools and cashmeres.

I like designer brands in the $750 and up range.

Something versatile...a handle for more ladylike-outfit days, but maybe a removable strap for crossbody/shoulder carry also. And, I prefer smaller bags (I travel light).

Ideas? Ladies, show me your reds!!

For something a bit less known(at least in the US), try Launer London in red patent and Traffic Red. TR has a slight blu-ish undertone, think Pirate Red lipstick from Chanel. The red patent is a perfect shade. They also have a Scarlet color which has a twinge of orange. They do send out leather swatches, to better help with a decision. I own the Royale in patent red and it's perfect. Very classy, top handle, removable strap, suede lined and comes with a leather-backed mirror.
