lol now i have two being sent to me as gifts for my friends birthday, one of which being that painted leather bag. i also loved that mailman bag and the franesco biasca and all those on the angle zipped up bags! i have to go look at more of these. i liked that biasca bag becuase its the same shape as that LV antigua messenger that i also liked, but didnt know if LV was the way to go. also ive been thinking about mulberry? TOO MANY BAGS, NOT ENOUGH ME! (and money of course) lol :)

but i dont know where to buy mulberry bags in nj? i want to see them before i buy them, and come on dont you love the whole 'experience'? lol

Please excuse my ignorance, which one is the mailman bag? I'm a browser, not a buyer, but of all the bags mentioned so far, the ones I am most intrigued by are the Jas MB bags.

You can see some of them here:

(I read about these links on another forum)

This Jas MB bag was also mentioned in a blog, SheFinds:

Barneys also sells bags by Charlott Vasberg, a young designer - interesting-looking, I think.

http://www.barneys.com/b/browse/designer.s?categoryId=16&query=Charlott+Vasberg&dsnrIndex=true

1st bag - Jas MB, 2nd bag - Charlott Vasberg ($675)

3rd bag - Charlott Vasberg ($435)

What do you think of these bags?

Passerby, you are awesome! I love that you attach all the photos!

You should be a personal shopper. I know who to ask when I am looking for a bag! Thanks for all your hard work!! :)

Thanks for the kind words, iliabags. I am a browser, not a buyer, and enjoy checking out the various sites (especially independent designers). Grechenscloset's designer directory really is awesome :D

Have you checked out the Ani Medium or large Cargo sacs? You can get them at Luna Boston or JcMadison on line. I'm going to buy one myself to use as a messenger when travelling or walking around in the city a lot. Very cute.

Thanks, piquedame - only too happy to help (even if 99.999% of the suggestions aren't useful :D ). It's funny but in *real* life I actually HATE shopping - ie going to stores. Out of curiosity, did you manage to get a great red bag?

hee hee me too passerby -- well, mostly i hate crowds!

about the red bag, *sigh* unfortunately, no  the one i thought i was going to love, turned out to be a really dark mauve with contrast white stitching. completely NOT what i wanted. i ordered it from bloomies, waited forever (as i'm in asia) and it was such a letdown. shipping it back would have cost a lot too. however, someone in my family really liked it so it wasn't a total waste :smile1:

so i've put my red bag dream on hold for the moment -- i figure it'll come to me when i'm ready

I'll keep an eye out for you :D Have you been to Japan and seen bags by Jas MB? Interesting designs (which I have only seen on the internet).

 i'm blushing from all the nice things passerby has said about grechenscloset.com...

i have a jas mb bag from a year ago - it's one of my favorite bags EVER and i get tons of compliemnts on it. i'm also lemming some of the new ones at barneys - the blue one is gorgeous, but not sure how practical it would be for me, i would be afraid to wear it with black...i also like the charlotte vasberg bags, but they're a bit small for my style lol...

for a messenger bag, i'm loving the one by begeren right now...also the anna corrina city tote and the greenish one by marnie bugs (you can save 20% at luna boston with code 'grechen')

Grechenscloset, you're awesome! Many thanks for your great site. Now enough of the compliments, here come the questions :D

How about Jano by Anja Flint and Christopher Kon bags? Have you seen any in real life?

The Jas MB bag that you have - is the quality of the leather excellent?

BTW Luz de Laguna - I stumbled upon her site last week and was delighted to see her name on your list of independent designers.

here's a pic of my jas mb...i got it a year ago at barney's co-op. the leather is phenomenal - thicker than my botkier, but so soft and supple. the hardware scraped up against it a bit in the back and scratched it, but it doesn't bother me. i have wanted to purchase many other jas mb bags, but never did...

i haven't seen any of the bags you mentioned IRL (of course i haven't got out much lately, since working my BUTT off), i love some of the details on the jano bags (the braiding and the hardware), but i feel like there's too much going on...

oh, and if you ever run across any designers/sites i don't have on my lists or in the directories, please let me know...i'm sure i don't have everything...

Thanks for the pic of the bag - it looks great. Grechenscloset, may I humbly suggest you include Tano in your directory? :D Many thanks. I came across this name on another forum
http://www.miel-accessories.com:

How about Rachel Nasvik?

One more for your consideration, please: anuschkaleather (beautiful handpainted leather bags and wallets), available on ebags and shoebuy.

Thanks!
