I started out with Coach so will likely always have something by them, love their wallets and wristlets and while i have cut back on the bags, i never see myself without 1 or 2. I like MK, why? pockets.. and more pockets, his brand really stuffs as many as he can. My go-to bag does not look like another one(by anyone, yeah he does make some that don't ) and is made of nice calf leather.

Longchamp is another i dabble in, great nylon bags, cannot beat them for storage and lightweight, they do make nice leather bags just an area i have yet to try out.

To me a bag is about what it does for you, sure names sometimes create more stir than others but if the bag is only that, you won't like it much long term.

Status to me and A bag is a joke.. sorry but you cannot improve anybody by a bag, and frankly some people just are not into them... I was one, i pushed 1000K$ strollers and had a bag worth low hundreds, it simply did not matter to me back then.

I don't think this thread is going to go swimmingly. However, my favourite out of the bunch would be Kate Spade. I love the quirky, cute styles.

It shouldn't matter whether others like it or not.

This.

I've also been into Rebecca Minkoff quite a lot lately, mostly because I think the designs are more edgy and less quirky (like KS). I go through stages so what I buy varies depending on whether I'm feeling cute or badass :)

Since Coach got a new designer/creative director/whatever, the boutique bags have improved and honestly, are stunning. I recently bought a colorblocked Crosby carryall and I'm in love.

I don't like Michael Kors for many reasons, but they are personal and I will not bash them.

No matter the brand or price level, I will not buy any monogram covered bag. I just won't do it. I do not like them at all.

Also, this is not a status symbol bag because they are not widely known, but GiGi New York bags are EXCELLENT quality bags, made right here in the US (Long Island, NY if you care). They are very grown up bags, no none-sense kinda bags, and I doubt you will see someone else carrying one at the same time. I made a quick video about two of the bags recently, it's in my YouTube channel (link signature), and I just ordered another one from the Thanksgiving sale, which I got personalized. I also have videos about several other bags in my channel.

As for Henri Bendel, I bought a Jetsetter backpack on Friday at 30% off (Black Friday) and haven't taken it out of the shopping bag yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Their customer service, at least in store, is great.

Cheers!

I think Longchamp makes very good quality leather bags that unfortunately get overlooked a lot of times due to their great & very practical le pliage counterpart.

On a shoe note: I just love the Tory Burch Reva flats! :)

Those the single-most uncomfortable pair of shows I have ever worn, including sky-high heels!

I agree. Status symbols vary from place to place. Your profile picture is fierce btw! I can't even stand up in heels let alone vacuum in them!

For me personally, my style... it has to be functional and it has to last a long time. I've had a expensive bag before but always felt like I had to baby it bc I wanted it to last for as long as it could.

I have a rebecca minkoff mini mab tote in floral design and a mini mac in the same floral design (I have pictures on the RM thread) and I love the quality and look and even better I don't feel like I have to baby them at all.

Next I'd say is Coach. I love their boutique bags but also don't see a problem with the outlet bags. You just have to be careful on which styles to buy. I have a mini bennett right now and it totally works for me because I don't feel like I have to baby it either. It's a step up from vegan bags (to me vegan bags seem like they fall apart fast due to what to what I lug around) and not quite the FP bags.

I can't speak for anyone else but me, but I've made the mistake of buying bags that I thought I really wanted and then end up not loving it as much as I thought I would and it would end up sitting in my closet.

I had the favorite LV monogram and after a day I was bored with it then sold it. I truly think I have a bag addiction of just buying what I like then selling.co Lol. Whenever I find a sale on I hop on it

I'm a big fan of Rebecca Minkoff and Kate Spade, RM because of her edgy, rocker chic and versatile bags, and KS for their quirky and whimsical bags. Because honestly, how many designers out there do you see having Ice Buckets, Flower Pots, Champagne Bottles, Chinese Take-Out boxes, and a Candy Wrappers as functional purses? Only Kate Spade. <3 And that's what I love about them.

I also rather spend my hard-earned money on Contemporary over Premier anyway. I don't like spending thousands on a single bag when I can buy multiple Contemporary purses and actually use them. I never understand why women spend $3000+ on premier bags but leave them rotting away in the closet simply because "they're too scared to use it." Really?
