Rant! If it's not Like New, don't b***y state it is!

Through PayPal. I'm waiting for Vestiaire to get back to me but they're known to take their sweet time.

You might want it to be on record that you will dispute the charge if you used a credit card if Vestiaire doesn't respond in a timely manner. You mention funding was through PP but with a cc?
I'd give Vestiaire 24 - 48 hours for a response. That should be adequate time to address this issue
I agree that you should take your issue up with Vestiaire before formally filing any disputes. But IMO, it's improper to threaten a chargeback. As the buyer, you know you have the upper hand.

If Vestiaire doesn't respond appropriately and if you aren't happy with whatever resolution they offer, your next line of defense is SNAD through Paypal. Paypal will freeze the payment and give them time (again) to resolve appropriately.

Only as a last resort should you file a c.c. dispute as that's your right but it's improper to threaten at any point, IMO. You aren't going to "scare" them in to refunding you just because you threaten a chargeback.

Time is money & compounded by an item that is misrepresented & an international transaction OP may need to be more assertive
& do what she feels is appropriate for her in these circumstances.
Waiting 24 -48 hours after contacting Vestiaire seems reasonable to know where one stands. If Vestiaire needs more time to look into the
matter, Vestiaire should be communicating this. This is not the first time Vestiaire has had condition complaints.
Not getting a timely response or good communication doesn't make anything easier for the OP

Thank you for trying to help me everyone, I know you all do a lot of great work to help out here when members have problems selling or buying :flowers:

I just need to say that this purchase is only ("only" as in tPF terms  ) a 150 EUR. bracelet, luckily not an expensive bag or similar. I'm upset because I just don't feel like reselling it on Vestiaire or eBay at all and I definitely do not want to keep it knowing I'll never use it. I'm also disappointed because this bracelet was the same colour and brand as a bag I have, and these bracelets are very rare to find in as new condition. I had high expectations, especially after I had such luck on Vestiaire with the other bracelet I bought.

I've had some bad purchase experiences lately, like a new Balenciaga wallet from Italist that came scratched, dirty and looking like somebody had been sitting on it. The last red one left and I'd been waiting so long to find a Bal wallet in red! And then the local postal service here (EU), lost a recommended letter from Italy containing all the original tags and receipts of a Balenciaga bag I bought recently. The seller didn't find them until she'd sent the bag. Postal services still haven't found the letter. I guess I'm just tired of other people being sloppy with my purchases :annoyed:

I know these are only worldly matters and there are much more pressing things going on on our poor planet, but maybe precisely because of this, I really need my bag buying feel good escapism from time to time. But l'm going to wait and get angry until Vestiaire tell me I can't return the bracelet

150 EUR sitting in your closet because a seller wasn't truthful in disclosing is unacceptable & Vestiaire should stand behind you, their buyer.
The item was bought in good faith based on condition & perhaps sending images of the condition of the bracelet if you already haven't to Vestiaire will
solidify your complaint
You have reached out to Vestiaire & hopefully they will respond in a satisfactory manner.
Sorry that you have to be subjected to all this .

Thank you, hotshot :hbeat: I have sent them pics. I really hope Vestiaire will agree with what you say.

You have to give Vestiaire the opportunity to respond & certainly 24- 48 hours seems reasonable for some sort of communication
as to what they intend to do.
If you are not happy, then you can decide what your next step will be.
Wouldn't want to be out 150 euros on principal with this seller

I agree with you 100%. I recently bought a handbag that was stated as like new and when the bag came, the leather was all warped with indentations from the strap. Even though it was pre loved I still paid quite a bit for it. I had to open a case against her since she wouldn’t accept a return even though I messaged her first and stated all the things that were wrong. She even had the audacity to say that I made the bad look worse than it was. I downloaded a camera app that included Timestamp so it’ll clearly state that I haven’t even used it since it was delivered. I’m so glad that I won the case against her. I’ve definitely learned my lesson to make sure to ask for pictures from all angles before purchasing pre loved

And now to have to ask about corner wear, straps, zippers, lining, bag repainting, pen marks etc that should normally be disclosed
There are sellers who will disclose it all Every little flaw because they want the buyer to know exactly what to expect & then there
are sellers such as what you describe.
Glad you won the case & hopefully the seller received a defect on her account

If there are 2 things I have learned about VC that would be to always have the item you're interested in independently authenticated AND never to trust the seller's description of the condition if there are not enough pictures to back it up. Most pics on VC leave lots to be desired and many sellers only post a few so there's no way to accurately access the item's condition. The last thing you should do is to trust VC's quality control team to judge the item for compliance. Many items that were "good condition" at best have passed their quality control as "very good condition."
Once they have deemed an item compliant, it can be a royal pain trying to return, but thankfully there's Paypal.
There's a thread on VC in the general shopping section, you should check it out.

And of course, always pay with PP, but thankfully you did that.
Good luck, I'm sure PP will do you right.
