I'm sorry, but I just had to let this out. I just received yet another pre-owned item, sold as like new but arriving with marks and visual wear. From Vestiaire which means it's going to be a pain to return I guess.

How can it be so b***y difficult to name these flaws in the listing and take a pic of them and post? Especially after I specifically asked the seller about all the details I wanted to know and to give it to me warts and all. I know there are sometimes discussions here about too fussy buyers and I am fussy, but I'm also willing to pay for it. Like New is not Gently Used. If a buyer states Gently Used I'm most likely not interested unless the pics convince me otherwise and the seller via convos proves to be of the more humble kind, rather underselling their items.

It's not just the disappointment that the item wasn't desribed correctly, it's the having to start looking all over again, it's the extra time it takes to deal with sellers and the eBays/Vestiaires, repacking, returning, remembering to check if the money has been returned etc.

:annoyed:

Ugh, my sympathies to you  I’ve never bought from vestiare collective, but I’ve read it can be very hit and miss. I did try reporting listings I found on eBay headed “As New” and in then text “worn only a few times” or “worn once”?? :confused1: Because that’s not new to me. But true to form ebay did nothing at all. I closed my eBay account, can’t say I miss it.

Thank you ladies :flowers: I've just been really stressed today, and things like this sort of brings you close to the "first world problem edge". I've bought a similar item from Vestiare recently that was in perfect new condition so I guess I was expecting something similar.

The item was listed as worn only once or maybe twice. Yes, maybe twice- by her ! :amuse:

Vestiaire don't accept returns but I'll write some really upset e-mails to them if they don't. I feel I'll be able to easily get in to just the right mood for that today :annoyed:

How did you fund your purchase? Make noise anywhere you can!!

Through PayPal. I'm waiting for Vestiaire to get back to me but they're known to take their sweet time.

You might want it to be on record that you will dispute the charge if you used a credit card if Vestiaire doesn't respond in a timely manner. You mention funding was through PP but with a cc?
I'd give Vestiaire 24 - 48 hours for a response. That should be adequate time to address this issue

The fact that you asked relevant questions of the seller before buying ought to count in your favour too, presumably its all on their system? Very frustrating though :yucky: best of luck :flowers:

I'm sorry that stinks! :cursing:

I don't get why sellers do that, I always underestimate the condition of my bag because I would rather state it as "good condition" then the buyer see it as "like new" when they get it. Better to underestimate then to over estimate condition in my opinion.

It does stink! Buyers ask for relevant information to make the best decision they can. In this case it looks obvious that the "sale" was all that mattered.

I don't know if it is still the case but ebay used to ban the use of the phrase "like new." Sellers got around it by using abbreviations.
I hate it when they put one thing in the title and another in the item condition. Like the title will say new without tags and the item condition will say preowned.

I came across one (NWOT) where the seller said it had been washed, but only once! Erm, nope, still not new  that didn’t get removed either

Pessie and hotshot: Yes, it was through PayPal but with a cc. I'll give them until tomorrow and then I'll contact PayPal. My convo with the seller is in their system, they can see it.

I'll let you all know what Vestiaire say when they answer my message. Looking at my convo with the seller I should probably have insisted even more and not made do with "only worn once", "maybe twice" and the less than clear photos.

BTW:
Vestiaire doesn't have a Like New option, the highest is Very Good Condition, meaning:
A second-hand accessory in a very good condition has been barely used and very well looked after.

It can not have (what the bracelet has in red, minor but clearly visible):
Scratched glass, damaged or scratched mount Stains, snags, discolouration, loose threads, unstitched seams, makeup marks and perfume odours and marks Marked/ damaged leather or fabric Stains Missing or broken accessories, fastenings that do not work Repairs Snags, unstitched seams, leather with a patina, stains, missing or damaged accessories Alterations Marks, loss of shape, stains Stains, leather with a patina, marked buckle, unstitched seams, repairs Please note that the addition of a hole by a professional should be mentioned in the description Discolouration, oxidation, bumps, cracks, badly mounted stones, scratches, broken or missing accessories, missing hallmark on precious metals

Good condition would have been the correct description of the bracelet:
A second-hand accessory in good condition has been well maintained with light signs of use.
