I've been thinking about croc lately and I gotta tell you... I like the Ricky, but I sure the hell don't want to pay that much for it. Esp. since, for me, croc may be just a phase...

Peace,

I LOVE the Ricky bag. I think they're so classic and stylish. The snob in me wonders if I would be happy with such an expensive purse from Ralph Lauren, though...

Not quite Hermes but 1. I can't get onto that list fast enough, 2. i don't want to spend 2-3x as much on a purse for my mom right now....

Ralph Lauren Collection is very well made so I'd assume it's the same for this. I've seen the bag in person. The leather seemed wonderful. But then again, I'm no expert in leathers!

Ok - I'm a mom - 48 years old - I just saw that bag IRL in the Cognac (which is like a British tan - it is absolutely gorgeous! The quality is breathtaking. It is an absolutely beautiful bag. The one I was looking at was about $2,000.00 - It is just one of the prettiest bags I've seen. You couldn't go wrong with this bag.

I think they raised the price? I remember it being cheaper last year.... Or is there a smaller one?

Alligator and croc are so classic! They look better with age too. I don't think they will ever really be passe because we all know fashion editors are snobs who will always love things that the average person cannot afford!

Hmmm... see, I agree with the fact that they don't go out of style, but I guess I'm just wondering if croc is PRACTICAL for me? I go through lots of phases with bags, so I try and stay around the 500 or less range with my bags (unless it's something that I plan on carrying for a LONG time...) and that way, when I'm done with that bag, I can go on the the next without feeling like I didn't get my monies worth...

But I really am feeling croc right now...

Peace,
Nyckei

I totally understand. Croc really isn't practical, it's just for aesthetic appeal. And it's super luxe.

Maybe faux is right for you? I general don't like it but the Anya Hindmarch Canker in petrol faux croc is

Hmmm... maybe I'll look into that... Thanks Sonya!

I mean, you know how you see something and you're like "wow, I really like that and I didn't think I would but now I do, but what if I don't like it later?" That's how I feel about the croc.:D

That's why sometimes I will wait before I buy something. Of course I've missed out on many things I still regret: Gucci tinsel sequinned silver shoes; Fendi white mink coat with pastel shapes (spring 2000 ad campaign, I think); Fendi blue and tan shoes (can't really describe them); Miu Miu sandals with the shooting stars -- 1999-2001 was when I started really getting into designer clothes, changed my life!

As I stated in my previous post, I don't know anything about RL handbags, but I have bought a lot of sweaters and shirts from their web site and the quality is top-knotch. I assume the hand bags would be of the same caliber. I'm 50 years old and have a nice collection of bags and I would welcome the Ricky as a beautiful addition. I think your mom would just flip over it!
