If you want firing sparkles, I'd say excellent cut at the minimum for GIA and ideal for AGS. It really depends on you, I know someone who has a 4cts diamond and she sacrificed a lot on clarity, color and even cut to get that....hers is "good" cut, and the diamond was only OK, in my opinion... not too sparkley.

yay!!! I rated the diamond using the Halloway Cut Advisor that you posted earlier. :) Thanks for being so helpful and responsive as well as generous with your time!

do you think the I is a concern? Honestly, I think I have the peculiar ability to see color in diamonds. My SO and I went to Shane Co and the consultant tried to test me and I got it right every time... Do you think "I" worrisome?

you tell me, my 3.67 is an I, here's mine in several different lights and a profile photo which is usually the only place you can actually see any color on a lower color stone :D

eta: the photo of the profile on my hand {#2} is outside but I just realized there's brown brick behind it :s any color you see is reflection. . . bad choice on my part:push:

I could have gotten an F for the same price but instead of a 3.67 it would've been just below a 3crt.
I'm a size whore apparently! LOL! As long as the cut is excellent it's all good:tup:

If you are color sensitive then you may want to see an I IRL prior to making a purchase.

Beautiful!!!! Its always hard to see details like color and clairty from a photo but yours is truley very gasp-worthy! You did good which is how I knew to ask you

I recall reading that you were looking at Leon settings. Are you still interested in getting your ring re-set? I think I have an idea of what kind of Leon setting I want but first... must. find. the. diamond!

i like how your diamond is lifted.. is there a reason why it is? more light?

no, no reason:nogood: I asked DH to have it put in a basic tiffany setting and the prongs are just too high for my preference.
I was going to have them shortened but decided to wait since the setting is temporary for me anyhow.
Diamonds reflect light from the top, so to have it open underneath or set high doesn't improve it's performance.
That's why even bezel set diamonds sparkle:yes:

What about the tiffany (6 prong setting) is there anything special with that VS a 4 or 5 prong? more security? well duh more prongs.. The sales lady suggested the 4 prong for me. She was like its more trendy.. Also it kinda looks like a princess but with more fire since its a round.. i kinda feel less secure since there is no top prong to protect it when i bang my hand around..

it's preference really.
I prefer less metal so I sort of want 4 prongs, but I think Im going to do 4 double claw prongs.
6 makes it look more round to most people, 4 sort of makes it appear squared off to some people.
