I would say go up a size from what you usually wear.
I wear a S or a M at A&F but a M or a L at Hollister.
I try to avoid the bottoms at Hollister completely.. they don't fit very well compared to A&F.

Hollister runs smaller than Abercrombie & Fitch. Its for pre-teens that cannot fit into A&F adults, and whom dislike the kids line. Don't buy Hollister, its a knock off of Abercrombie. The material is really cheap. Just buy Abercrombie & Fitch (But the quality is a slight upgrade) if your into the whole look.

Hollister seems to run pretty true to size for the guys stuff (my BF wears the same size from there as he does other stores) The girls stuff definitely runs a lot smaller. I'd say go up at least a size from what you normally wear.

I have to disagree. My whole wardrobe consists mainly of Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie, and Hollister... and my Hollister clothes last just as long as the A&F ones. I have tees and sweatshirts from 2 years ago that still look good. Plus, I have to say that some, if not most, of the A&F tanks/tees are thinner than the Hollister ones. I like A&F style better, but sometimes the prices are so ridiculous...

Also, A&F has more of an east coast vibe, Hollister is more beachy.

^^ That may be true, but if you look at the tags of things to see what they're made out of, the materials are usually better quality at A&F. T-Shirts are going to be the same, but for things like sweaters and jeans the quality at Hollister is lower. I also agree that AF prices are crazy, but when things go on sale there they're dirt cheap.

I have to agree with SPOILEDkiwi, about the materials which are used.
If A&F used the same exact materials, and quality as HCO, they would have the same price points. But to be honest, both are poorly made, and are overpriced. I agree A&F,and HCO sometimes have the same EXACT styling of a top or hoodie, but the HCO one has is made with cheaper material, and styling. My friend works at HCO,and I work at A&F. We always discuss this. The Tank tops are made thin on purpose, so you can wear them when you layer tops. If you really like A&F,shop in the kids store. At A&F the prices are high when they are full priced, but stuff goes dirt cheap when its on sale.

A&F is geared toward collegiate students, and HCO is geared toward tweens. Just look at the A&F ad's vs. HCO adds. A&F ad's scream sex,and our music usually has sexual undertones. Our CD at work has 6 sexually themed songs. HCO has music that can be found on fuse, and their ads are clean.

We are opening another concept store called Gilly Hicks (Which is lingerie geared toward collegiate girls), I would post the link but its soft core porn (Which is )

I'm 15, so luckily I still fit into the stuff in kids. I'm not trying to put down A&F.. I love it and always find something I want there, but I just wish it was more affordable sometimes. But I do agree, the stuff on sale has pretty good pricing.

A&F ads definitely do have sex appeal..you should have seen the shocked look on my mom's face when she saw the ad for the jeans in the dressing room..

i havent bought af in years but from my experience, tops run small but bottoms are huuuuugeeee.

yeah and i agree with one of the previous posters. af quality is horrible. tees are always like paper thin. tops and sweaters pill easily.

so i ordered one sweater from abercrombie to see how it fits, and the xs fits. but the sweater is a classic fit sweater. i want to order another sweater but this sweater is fitted. do you think i should order a size up?

(anyone else have a prob with the sweaters shedding?)
