Would the same protocols apply if I'd like to purchase a Constance bag? Thank you.

If you're in the market for a Constance you will have a very different experience. You need only go in and inquire about one and they will be more than happy to tell you what they have in stock. Most stores don't generally have a lot in stock, but they will happily search for what you want if you have something specific in mind.

If you are new to Hermes, the "why?" is a bit of lengthy explanation, but suffice it to say that SAs are highly incentivized to sell a Constance...or any bag other than a B or K, for that matter...

Have fun!

Hi all,

Apologies if this question has been asked before but couldn't seem to find anything.
I'm usually over at the Chanel forum but haven been lurking over this side for a while:D. I've always known I wanted a Hermes bag once I'd finished with my Chanel purchases. So last weekend I decided to bite the bullet and pop into an Hermes store. I asked for a Constance and was told they hadn't had in for a while but the manager was kind enough to show me her own one and took my details for when they got one in. Anyhow I thought I'd ask for a Kelly, the last one had been sold to the lady before me
The manager then asked me if I was after something specific and I told her just a 32 black togo. She again wrote my details down and said she will call.
After chatting for a little while longer she mentioned that if I wanted something unique I could come in at the end of Jan and fill out an order form, any colour, any hw and any leather. Even bi-colour.
Now my question, is the very common for someone who isn't a customer and what does ordering this way involve.
Thanks in advance
Cagla x

Hi ladies,

Do you guys have a SA in Beverly Hills you can give me the name of? I went in today and they were extremely unhelpful. They said they didn't have any in stock and when I inquired how I could go about purchasing one, the answer (I kid you not) was "I don't really know". I asked if the Vegas locations may have some and the answer again was "I don't really know". And when I asked if I had a better chance of purchasing one in Paris, she just said "you could try".

I got a bit annoyed at all the vague answers. So if someone could give me a helpful SA's info, I would really appreciate it!

That's so typical, I think all Hermes SA 'trained' to answer that LOL :p
I get that a lot too in paris

Yup, the general rule is that SAs don't discuss Birkins. I guess I'd rather be told "I don't know" than "We have none," when in fact I know that there often ARE Birkins around--just not for general sale. It's an odd world, the world of Hermes. Don't give up. I've received this response and simply been nice about it, "I understand. I'd be grateful if you'd let me know if something becomes available." And I've learned that sometimes polite persistence pays off!

Good luck cewek! Do you know what color & size you want?

Thank you graycat5 ;) At the time of writing my original question, I thought I wanted the Constance but after thinking and observing the Constance in action, it turns out that I wouldn't be able to carry a lot and I'm falling in love with the Lindy instead. I would really love to get a 34 swift in dark chocolate colour or grey. I'm looking at going to the US in November so I'm definitely saving hard for it. I've also read about about how scarce Lindys are at the moment, so I'm hoping that won't be the case by then! :graucho::graucho::graucho:

Hi, just one newbie question.... Why are they so "afraid" of speaking about Birkin or Kelly... It's like "the bag never should be mention" .... But that's the only bag I like in Hermes! *sign

well i heard that constance is high on demand at the moment.
overheard someone asked for birkin or kelly at the store couple of weeks ago and the SAs answer was straight "no birkin, no kelly, no constance"

someone told me that she's given only 2 constance bag per year as well...

i can still manage to spot on a few lindys here and there.. though swift is quite rare case... good luck on your quest for lindy =)
