Kou is right....it happened to a friend of mine - she ended up picking at the 'stuck' bit with her fingernail, and scratched her gold......defeated the purpose of leaving the plastic on.......another lady I know bought a Birkin at the Mothership store, and wanted to wear the bag straight away, so the SA took the plastic off before she could ask to leave it on!

I always peel them off right before I use it for the first time. I really don't like the idea of using my bags with plastic films on.

No difference in price between palladium and gold HW.
I believe Jag's prices posted earlier are still current at least in the US - it's more in Canada, Australia and Asia, and cheaper in Europe. I don't think the price increase is coming until 2007.

julie8980-I've seen HAC 36cm in Blue Jean at Hermes in person, and tried it on. It was HUGE! Some reason, we (my husband and I) felt HAC 36 was much bigger than 35cm Birkin! It was gorgeous color, but I had to pass it. My DH didn't like BJ color, either ! I thought the color was pretty, but 36cm was just too big for me!

If I were you, I would choose 35cm Birkin over HAC 36cm. Can you try them first before you decide?
