Hi Claire, the gold ornament is called 'kerongsang'. The nyonyas use it to hold the kebaya together. It functions as buttons.

Thanks 3jems. Moonstones are my birthstone, so by almost 40, I've collected quite a few. Moonstones are like jade in that prices have soared in the last few years. They used to be more affordable, and now the supplies really are dwindling. So if you see a good moonstone at a descent price, grab it! One has to be careful not to confuse moonstone with rainbow labradorite, which is a close relative, but much more abundant. They look really similar though.

Clairejune...I am still drooling over your moonstones pieces....Thanks so much for posting them...I found myself going back to those pics over and over again...

Peridot is my birthstone...but up to now, I still haven't collect anything with that stone on....sigh...I m really not that crazy about the color. I need to find something that has a great design with that stone to win me over...

The red one name "Euphoria"
The gray/light green name "Blossom"
