LV will not make any recommendation about treating the leather. I think I read that if the treatment doesn't work, they don't want people coming back for new bags based on the leather treatment. But any of the three products listed will certainly help.

I just bought shining monkey after reading all teh great reviews here. It will protect it from water damage. My handals are already a bit dirty, so do i clean them before using this spray? What do most ppl use to clean the newish handals and what are the effects? thanks
Definitely clean the handles before applying "shining monkey" - try "magic eraser". You will be happy with protection "shining monkey" provides - I use it on my bags and all my expensive leather shoes.
I wouldn't recommend using the Magic Eraser unless it's a last ditch effort before replacing the handles. It's like a fine sandpaper, so it's abrasive to the leather, and very drying. Use the Apple Leather Care - it will gently remove the dirt and condition the leather at the same time.
