I like the ring, and with it being 1/2 diamonds, it will be easy to size. I'm just not thinking a young girl will wear a watch that is 18 years old. Styles change so much, but the ring should be in fashion forever.

Longines has actually been around a bit longer than Cartier, BTW. I think everyone juat goes with "Cartier" because of brand-name familiarity. Both are classics IMO.

In any event, congrats on your new watch and lil bundle of joy-to-be!

I actually tried on the longines at the watch shop before deciding. it looks really nice too! very feminine and delicate. but i'm a bit worried about the shinny stainless steel strap - i'm very rough with my watch so will definitely scratch it - the tank's strap is matt so scratches won't be too obvious (i hope!)

It looks very nice! I *think* you can buff scratches out of stainless. I seem to recall reading that somewhere b/c my watch is also stainless- I am also hard on any jewelry that is on my wrists.

Congratulations on the Cartier!!! It looks beautiful on you, so classic and timeless - now the only problem will be whether or not you are actually willing to give it your baby when she's 18!
