Amazing list! Thank you so much! Here I found I’m in love with Heure H Watch with Alligator Strap. That’s on my wishlist for sure! Somehow I haven’t payed enough attention to watches from Hermès. I wonder how long can this strap last, is there some warranty and if I can purchase one in alligator separately? Does H has some other colors (Alligator) to choose from?

Some people do. It’s not unusual here in NY, Don’t forget Chanukah too (which may have had an influence on that - after all, as kids we start out with eight presents and then as you get older they sort of get consolidated to one or two substantial things ).

If you want to see outrageous, the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book always has a bunch of really extravagant offerings.

Very interesting article. @Notorious Pink Is it customary to buy such expensive gifts for Christmas?
In the UK we mostly buy gifts for children, ( at least in my family) I can’t imagine spending that much on adults. We do send food hampers, which are comparatively expensive, but h doesn’t do anything edible.

I think you're right ladysarah, whichever religion we follow, we're def 'cheaper' at presents (and e-rings) in the UK. It seems we're more into spending lots of money on Christmas parties, new decor for the home and piling-up gifts for kids. I generally buy a few gifts some of my favourite people and just cards/chocs 'for those who already have everything'.

DH has to tell me what he wants, and this year it's gloves so that's between H and William and Son. I notice H Nervures gloves have touch screen facility, the ones with the H on the back are nicer than the single seam to my mind but he won't wear a big H on each hand.

Thanks! I really appreciate the research and effort you put into this. And guess what? Some items I would never knew existed would be a really fun present for my DH (those cards!). Please, keep writing. I like your style and the ideas you have.

It’s a great gift guide, I was only asking because I am interested in what people from different cultures like to do for Christmas. That’s one of the joys of TPF being a global presence.;)

We also also more low key. My husband and I get a nice gift for each other but our gifts for family are simple (book, bottle of wine etc).
Same here. In fact among our acquaintances a good bottle of wine or a small hamper at the very most. I did get a very nice Hermes book a few years back though. The ABC guide which comes in very handy...
In my fantasy world someone buys me this:

Thank you! Quite honestly in my house my husband gets me my gift whenever it arrives (if it’s a bag) or if I ask for something.
