if i saw that in a store here in town, i'd buy it to try it. but i don't know if i like it enough to go thru the trouble of buying online.
Also, do they fold up to be stored in your purse? How do you carry it around? I feel like my friends would laugh at me if I used it, and I would actually have to laugh, too. I'd feel ridiculous, even though it is a good idea if you REALLY don't want to put your bag on the floor! I usually just check to make sure the floor looks clean where I place it!

Yes, it folds up and I store mine in my LV cles. The one I have doesn't work with thick tables. I'll try to post a pic of mine in action.

yea i just kinda check the floor where i am goin to put my bag doown or just keep it on my lap no matter how awkward but it is a really good idea just not dsicreet

I have one and use it a lot because we like to hang out in our local coffeehouses...have you ever looked at the floors? Most of my bags are too large/heavy to hang on the back of my chair. I don't feel weird about it at all. I just got one that is plain chrome so it doesn't shout at anyone "hey, I'm a purse doodad!" It's actually really handy and yes, it does swivel so that it stores flat. Highly Recommended!
I ordered a set of 3 of these off of Ebay. The way they work is basically based on physics. The more the weight of the bag holds down the hook. Therefore, yes, they work with heavy bags.
They do fold up and the ones I ordered each came in a little velvet pouch. As far as the bag being in the way, I think it really depends on the restaurant. You can usually find a place on the side of the table where the bag is not in the way. I don't worry too much about what other people think...if others want to put their bags on the floor, that's fine. But I didn't pay $700 for a bag so that it can sit on the floor get dirt on it!

Another purse hanger fan here and I share the same sentiment as you
I don't care what other people think when they see me using my purse hangers because at the end of the day, it's my bag and I can look after it in whatever way I prefer (as long as it's not causing any inconvenience to anyone). Besides, I hate putting my bags on the floor because I can't even begin to imagine how many germs there are on the floor, yuck 
!!! Admittedly some people would look when I use my purse hangers but most of the time, it's more a curious look and occasionally some of them will ask me where I got it from because they think it's a great idea and they want to get one too
That's how I use mine also. Occasionally if I am sitting at a table by the wall, I will move the table out a little bit and hang my purse by the wall. This way, it's totally protected and out of harms way
I was wondering if anyone has ever used a purse hook? If so, how useful is it and can you recommend a brand? I'm normally more of a Caviar girl, but lately I've been purchasing a lot of Lambskin...more babying gah!
