My very dependable Cartier quartz watch finally developed an issue.
I have owned the piece for several years, and despite frequent and sometimes demanding use, battery replacement was the only service it needed.
Then a few months ago, I noticed that the time was off by a few minutes. I reset the watch to the correct time, but it quickly started losing time again. By the next morning, it was obvious that there was a problem. It had been over two years since the battery had been replaced, so I was hopeful that that was the only issue.
I scheduled an appointment at a Cartier boutique, and patiently waited for that date. My sales associate did a great job getting the watch looked at quickly, and even generously offered to get the watch back to me the same day if the only issue was the battery. Later that day, I got a call saying that the watch was ready to pick up.
Problem solved…I thought.
Unfortunately, a few weeks later, the watch stopped.
So, I know that there is something else wrong with my watch. I plan on taking it back to the boutique for evaluation, but I am curious if others have experienced something similar; and if so, how it sorted out?
Thanks
