it’ll be interesting how the British press reports on her wedding.

It'll be interesting to see how public or low key this wedding is. After all, there are a lot of storylines to keep it from being one you get swept away in the romance ... father of the bride being involved in the investigation of an underage sex trafficking ring ... mother of the bride who fell out of the good graces of her husbands family after some embarrassing affairs ... groom who called off an engagement to the mother of his child to date the bridge ... not exactly the stuff fairy tales are made of. But the engagement pictures are lovely.

The ex-fiancee of Princess Beatrice's husband-to-be Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has congratulated them on their engagement, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

News of the engagement came earlier today with the Duke and Duchess of York saying they were 'thrilled' their daughter will wed the multi-millionaire businessman next year.

Breaking her silence, his ex-fiancee and mother of his child Dara Huang told MailOnline: 'I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.'

The Chinese-American architect, 37, shares a two-year-old son, Christopher 'Woolfie' Woolf, with Edoardo and they were engaged for three-and-a-half years.

The property tycoon is thought to have started dating Beatrice, 31, while he was still living with his ex-partner - but after their relationship ended.

A close family friend of Edo's stated that the couple had split six months before.

I think Beatrice is very pretty. And I feel terrible for these girls - they have both spoken out about how hard it was to live with the internet comments about their looks as they grew up.

I really hope this marriage is a success and they have a lovely life together. I’ve always been impressed with how these two rose above the shenanigans of everyone around them, got jobs and lived relatively under the radar lives.

I don't think either of the girls is pretty. But I wouldn't want to hurt them. I'm assuming they don't read my posts here :)

Yeah, I get that. And I didn’t mean to single you out - I just happened to post after you. There are far more unpleasant comments than yours here but I wasn’t directly that at anyone in this thread.

Although, no one knows where they frequent, I guess. They could very well be here. Or anywhere.

Jobs??? .. hasn't Beatrice been criticized heavily in the past re: her "vacations" and time away from said jobs, and that she never lasted very long at a single one? Not that they truly had to work, but I don't think either really sought to get a job like most of us!

I can see why a groom would be over the moon to nab one of the York girls. I don’t know much about their personalities but I’m sure they have some crazy unique experiences. I cannot imagine they would be boring people.

They’ve traveled all over the world and lived very privileged lives, but they have also met world leaders and received the best education. They surely can hold their own in conversation with anyone.

There’s so much more to love than looks.
