And there is the thread for brother Edward:
Prince Edward And Sophie, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh
Countess Sophie of Wessex is poised to become an even more prominent Senior Royal. She does pop up from time to time in the Royalty Fashion Thread, but I thought in the future there will be more to say about her and Prince Edward. Here is an article from The Times archive to kick us off...forum.purseblog.com
All her brothers are Dukes or more.
Why is Anne a "mere" princess?
Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise - these are her first names.
But what is her family name?
Windsor?
Wndsor-Mountbatten?
Mountbatten-Windsor?
Mountbatten?
Laurence?
Laurence Mountbatten-Windsor?
Who knows?
Who can tell?![]()
Yes, of course. She isn't, she's the Princess Royal, and has been so since 1987
Good to know!Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise Mountbatten-Windsor
Yes, of course.
So she is not a "mere" princess, as I wrote.
What I meant was: Why has she not been given a Dukedom etc - like her brothers?
True. There are many Dukes, but only one Princess Royal![]()
From birth, William has been a British prince with the style of Royal Highness and the territorial designation "of Wales". On his wedding day, 29 April 2011, his grandmother Elizabeth II created him Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus. The letters patent granting these titles were issued on 26 May that year.[4][5] Between his marriage and his father's accession to the throne, he was referred to as the Duke of Cambridge outside Scotland, and as the Earl of Strathearn within Scotland.[6][7][8]
On the demise of Elizabeth II and the accession of his father on 8 September 2022, as the eldest son of the monarch, he automatically became in England the Duke of Cornwall and in Scotland the Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.[9][10] On 9 September 2022, the King announced the appointment of William as Prince of Wales. He is now referred to as the Prince of Wales outside Scotland, and as the Duke of Rothesay within Scotland.

I agree. I'm not a big fan of her hairstyle, because it reminds me of Gary Oldman in Dracula, but it seems to work for her:It's fair enough that we all only have one face, so if we have a hairstyle the flatters and fits our face and personality we keep it.
If one has long straight hair you can style it in all different ways, which she does. Actually, I think she dresses well, always appropriately for the occasion.
She's been married twice.
But the thing is she doesn’t style it in different ways, does she? I mean with every photo I’ve seen of her, it’s the same bloody style since she married the first time! Please prove me wrong lol. It's fair enough that we all only have one face, so if we have a hairstyle the flatters and fits our face and personality we keep it.

Another parallel: Their love of horses.Well, her mother really didn't either. So like mother, like daughter.
I agreeI think the princess royal is quite fascinating and an admirable person.
