I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Per usual, H&M go too far and repeat too much of the same thing, ultimately overloading the public with the same monotonous nonsense, resulting in the exact opposite result of what they intended. History shows that this “let’s bombard the airwaves” over and over approach inevitably works against them. Receiving award after stupid (paid for) award in a matter of days clearly dilutes the value of each award. Now people are using the sudden avalanche of awards as a reason to criticize the couple, instead of a reason to commend them. This strategy always backfires on them, yet they continue to do it.

ex: When they first started “exposing the truth” about the RF, people listened. The couple was relatively popular in the US after the Oprah interview. But they continued to pile on the complaints and the victimhood (and the lies) with the Netflix documentary, the release of Waaagh! and a series of ill advised interviews. People were overloaded and all the redundant complaining worked against them. So here we go again, if they got one or two awards a year, fine. No one would really care but it might get them some positive PR for a few minutes. But when they start accumulating awards at a laughably absurd pace, people notice and it reduces the impact of each award plus the totality of the rapidly bestowed awards becomes a punchline instead of a catalyst for commendation.

You would think the recent string of PR failures might inspire them to reassess and pivot away from this terrible strategy, but I guess not. They just can’t get out of their own way.

Did anyone really believe she came up with it herself though? It is a given that she has employees who do all the work. Spotify had over 20 people working on her podcast. She basically read a script.

No, and to be honest as someone on the other end of format developing it doesn't even shock me. My clients usually don't hold their face into a camera babbling on how it was all their brainchild an act like any awards that one wins is their merit, though.

If anyone had doubts Gloria Steinem at 89 has gotten a little dim in her dotage, this seems to indicate a “yes” she has. The once leading feminist’s Organization bestowing an Award to a grifter whose only Vision was ever to trap a rich husband and claw her way to worldwide infamy while keeping his balls clearly detached/stashed in her handbag, makes a mockery of a once respected Organization. Shame on you Gloria.

The only juice she has to spill at this point is the truth about her yachting days, how she ditched her family and exes, or the use of surrogates. But I don't think she's about to go there. Yet.

Agree, GS is being used. Does anyone read MS [is there a print version?] or attend their events? Are employers impressed with MS on the resume? Seems we have moved beyond MS.

We live in an age where everyone gets an Award , so most people know the awards are bogus, lacking in substance. H&M’s participation in the farce makes them look like amateurs and poseurs, always zzzzz listers [much gratitude to CeeJay ].

For a royal reporter Richard Eden is massively missing the mark here. The Marquess of Cholmondeley might be a friend, but first and foremost he has held several important ceremonial roles for both The Queen and now Charles from early childhood due to his family's importance.

Also I feel Camilla's grandchildren and grandnephew make sense in this context. They didn't make up roles for them, they gave them roles that otherwise would have gone to sons of peers with little to no relationship to her. I think it's lovely.

Well, the Cholmondeleys and Camilla’s grandchildren have been around a darn sight longer than Claw and the invisikids, so it’s right and proper that they are involved in the coronation proceedings.

Boy are they thick... "Twins run in the Spencer family"... I don't know if the boys are identical or fraternal twins but I do know men do not have twins because of the gene, they can only pass the trait onwards to their daughters. I just don't get the logic behind David not being the father of the twins because they were born three months after his and Rose's wedding.

Edit: Just read further... Now they're claiming all pages are Charles's grandsons...

They are so blindingly jealous it’s at the laughable level. The thorns have been off that Rose story ever since the man who admitted his lie in planting it, admitted it. Conveniently ignored, of course. BTW, the Cholmondeleys met in Italy in 2003, but did not marry until 2009, according to an article on line.

Last laugh on Squadies, however. The Cholmondeleys are a month and a day away from participation in the Coronation, a world wide televised historic event. Both Father, King Charles III’s Lord-in-Waiting, and his son, Lord Oliver, one of the Pages serving with Prince George, will be on screen in proximity to real Royals.

Meanwhile Blue Todger and TW’s sugars are going rancid in the squaddies barracks as the frequently depicted “Former Royal, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and his former cable tv actress wife, Meghan Markle” hunker down increasingly mocked and ridiculed in world wide media. The desperation sparks a vision, ugh, of the picture of Messy in her brown dress with rotten armpit juice stains.

Even if they risk derision and appear at the Coronation, it will not be in an active role like the Cholmondeleys. To add insult, Rose is a former model, knows how to dress and even more importantly, how to behave royally. She has never been photographed sticking her tongue out during a Royal function like no class Ghoul was, several times.
