I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Andrew supposedly is paying only 250 BP a week to rent Royal Lodge, a 30 room mansion resting on 98 acres. The Crown Estates is responsible for maintaining most of the grounds so Andrew isn’t even responsible for most of the upkeep of the estate. You could write it off as an additional perk when Andrew was a senior working royal but now that he is a non-working royal, why should he continue to benefit from this perk? Maybe some of our UK members can estimate what full market rent would be for Royal Lodge?
i haven’t seen any articles that break out what H has been paying in rent for Frogmore Cottage since Megxit. The multi million pound lump sum repayment of the cost to refurbish Frogmore Cottage supposedly included the rent payments for 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 so the rent was not broken out as a separate number. I saw one article say that BP stated that H was paying a “commercial rate” which I assume means the same as market rate but without seeing the actual amount he’s paying per year, who knows whether or not H really is paying full market rent for Frogmore Cottage. But there are still perks H doesn’t pay for while at Frogmore Cottage such as security for the entire Windsor estate that includes Frogmore Cottage. So if he wants to continue to keep a place in the UK, let him go rent or buy one outside the Royal enclaves like regular folk.

Maybe he's decided he has reached the point where he wants to cut toxic people out of his life and enjoy the time he has left with the people who matter most to him, and also devote his time and energy to carrying on his mother's legacy while building his own. I can't say that I blame him.

The entire royal family was blindsided by Harry. Don’t think Charles will forgive the concern and disappointment Harry inflicted on the Queen and Philip in their final years.

I blame Harry more than I do Meghan. An outsider cannot hurt family like one of their own.

100% agree. She may appear to be the brains, but he knew his family and their expectations. He knew the ride was not free, knew there was a pecking order and made jokes about it at his own expense. Rather than accepting responsibility now for these disastrous choices, he is letting her take the heat. Ladies, this is the guy our moms warned us about - and for good reason.
He is a jerk.
