I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

And other 90+ year old billionaires? You know full well she's got the most recent list of the world's billionaires to hit up. I think her only criteria is money, the more the better.

OTOH, it was an Aileen Getty that funded the "climate activists" of "Just Stop Oil" that threw soup on a Van Gogh, and crap on other famous paintings then glued themselves onto those paintings late last year.

And isn't it ironic as hell that Aileen inherited tons of money through her oil rich family and now rails against it? If she had any guts at all, she'd give away all her money to charity since oil is "beneath" her. Another spoiled two faced beeyatch.

She’s almost certainly hitting him up for a large “charitable” donation to Archewell. He has several children and grandchildren. I don’t think Meghan will get far.

Of course he became a widower in 2020, maybe she has set her sights higher than a donation.

If MegZ had the finest piece of JAR and a plate of Monica Vinader in front of her she'd go for the MV. In the scheme of all things luxury and certainly in comparison most dept store's so called 'fine jewellery', it's just costume tat compared with JAR.

M has 0 taste, appreciation or understanding for the finer things of life, she is the definition of 'money can't buy you taste'. In her case, it actually proves the point.

All that lark about calligraphy, even her (few) accomplishments and interests in cultural pursuits are whatever's fashionable in sleepover-circles.

I always had the feeling that Perelman was giving her the expensive jewelry knowing that he was going to dump her at some
point and based on the prenup, she might not be getting that much. The jewelry was something for her to sell and make some money. EB never struck me as someone that interested in fashion or jewelry.

I just got Cartier tosh myself, in fact, I have designer costume/fashion stuff and pottery beads etc, but unlike what Meghan could have had for the rest of her life, her 'entry level' pieces like the plated stuff she hawks, and even her C JuC and Love bangles etc are nothing.

I knew absolutely nothing about Barkin's relationship (apart from what's in this thread) but I had heard about her collection of JAR.

You could have seen this coming a mile away. Titles are nice, but when titles don't get the job done or pay the mortgage, nothing beats cold hard cash. I hope that Getty is too smart to fall for her con game, but at 89 his brain cells may be slowing down a bit. This should be VEEEEEERY interesting.

the old world kind just like Fred Leighton (Murray Mondschein) was & Ward Landrigan of Verdura is.
The taste level has dramatically changed over the years & there is no "entitlement to walking through

JAR was extremely particular as to who he collaborated with on his designs & the details took
months & months

I would kill for a pair of Verdura's signature Greta Garbo bracelets. One day!
