Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

You know what really gets me with these 'let me organise the world for you little people' people like Ms Garbus, especially the ones that bang on about colonialism, we are ALL part of the "larger historical context".

H&M are privileged. In the scheme of things and globally both were born privileged. I don't care what colour either one of them thinks they are or who they're related to. The are privileged by birth or marrying into it. If H&M really don't want to have anything to do with 'dirty money, privilege (money) and/or class, they can refuse to be a part of it, distance themselves from their titles and birthright (him) give back the money (that C gave D as divorce settlement) left to H, refuse all VIP invitations, even reimburse their parents for their respective 'education'. Why is their story so much more significant than anyone else's? Isn't that why we stopped just learning about kings and queens at school?

The only thing they hate is they're not at the top. They don't have a problem with colonial rule, class or the wealthy elite. Their only gripe is they're not Emperor and Empress of all entire world, not richer than Bill Gates and their own class (Harry's really) thinks they're gauche and crass.

In Spare, M seems to have had multiple miscarriages. It's hard to get a timeline unless tracked from the outside (print/online articles) but notes on the frequency, inconsistencies and order is within this thread.

Perhaps, she did pull 'the oldest trick in the book' to get the wedding done and dusted in record time - she certainly didn't have anything to lose and everything to gain. It would certainly explain a lot.
Love this. Beautifully expressed and 100% accurate on their incredibly vacuous and self centred definition of social justice and politics.

I’d believe she told them she was pregnant and I’d believe H doesn’t wear rubbers because after all he ain’t paying for any babies.
Jean Baudrillard's work (1981) Simulacres et Simulation pretty much said it first, he even noted that people were using Sony Walkmans to add soundtracks (to their own life).

Again, Harry has been trained from a very young age to KNOW he is at least one of the main characters (from the main family) and that everyone else is just an extra. Patronise, promise, wave to, but still just extras in Harry's film.

Meghan absolutely went about getting her role like prepping for an audition for a lead character. She's not a good actress, but she's a good at getting herself noticed. She knows she's a fraud. Unfortunately, for her, most of us know she is too. Tom Bower's book is a testament to her drive and ambition to be the leading actress on the world stage.
I find the idea of being the star of my movie a bit scary actually - I think I’d quite like to be the statler or Waldorf though….

Wow the Will is great! The Catherine and Rishi.:..not so much.

I am always tickled by how little some lookalikes resemble the person and tbh I also just find the whole idea so bizarre why would you want someone who looks a little bit like Drew Barrymore, say, attend your party? Is it to trick people into thinking Drew was there? Does the actress have to mimic her conversation too? So odd.

I think this was one of the best parts of the Nutflix special. No one can make a bigger fool of her than she can of herself

And then that air steward said
‘You were so good on U.K. season 1, I so loved your snatch game, baga chipz’ and she clobbered him on the head with her food tray.

Just kidding, baga has better fillers.

She actually seems to believe this happened.
I honestly do not know how anyone sat through 6 hours of this. I mean, I barely made it through this.

CUE MUSIC

"...some pilot,... or whoever's overseeing the crew..." :cutesy:

The pilot should be in the cockpit, no? Who did she think was flying the plane?

Cabin crew wear hats? I think she meant cap - but cabin crew in caps? I think she had a vision
