I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Prince Harry reprimanded for crisis at charity​

Duke of Sussex loses battle for control of Sentebale as watchdog criticises him for his part in ‘damaging’ bullying row

The Duke of Sussex has lost his battle for control of the charity he set up in his mother’s memory as a watchdog criticised him for his part in a “damaging” bullying row.
Sentebale, which Prince Harry co-founded in 2006, was thrown into crisis in March when Dr Sophie Chandauka, its chairman, made claims of harassment and misogyny, triggering the resignations of the Prince as patron and several trustees.
A Charity Commission investigation into the affair has found problems with Sentebale’s governance and rebuked “all parties” involved for allowing the spat to play out in public, but ruled that Dr Chandauka and the current board could remain in place, meaning she has emerged victorious.

The Prince is said to be “utterly devastated” by what he regards as a “hostile takeover” of the charity, and has signalled that his split from Sentebale is now permanent.
Had the commission launched a statutory inquiry into Sentebale, there would have been pressure on the chairman to leave, paving the way for Prince Harry to return, but the fact that the watchdog decided that was unnecessary and allowed her to stay means there is now no way back for him.

The commission said it had found no evidence of widespread or systematic bullying or harassment, including misogyny or misogynoir, but it “acknowledged the strong perception of ill-treatment felt by a number of parties to the dispute and the impact this may have had on them personally”.

The worst part of this is that I have those exact H sandals in black, and I don't want to associate wearing them with this vision. Not sure hers are real though because mine look quite different (meaning....good) on my feet.....but then again I don't have feet like hers with prehensile toes and such....(thankfully).

I wrote earlier today that I suspected Prince Harry was feeling pretty miserable after he dramatically quit Sentebale, the African HIV charity that he established in memory of his mother, after losing a boardroom battle with its chairperson, the formidable Sophie Chandauka.
That has now been confirmed to me by a source close to Harry who told me the prince was “emotionally devastated” by what has happened. He is also incredibly angry.

Harry and his royal friend, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, jointly established the charity in 2006 in memory of their deceased mothers, Diana and Queen ‘Mamohato.
Harry believes the charity, which has helped hundreds of thousands of the world’s poorest and most desperate children cope with HIV, either directly or in their family, over the past 19 years, has effectively been “tanked” by Chandauka.
Adding a new level of anguish, he is “absolutely disgusted” that Chandauka has invoked the memory and legacy of his mother to attack him in her own statement issued today.
Harry is also, I think it’s fair to say, ruing the day in July 2023, that Chandauka was appointed chair of the board, giving her a powerbase from which to launch her “hostile takeover” of the charity, as he is characterizing it to his allies.
Harry and Seeiso were no longer board members (they had graduated to the role of patrons and figureheads), so were not part of the vote to crown her, but still, one assumes they had significant influence.
So, how did it happen?
