My boutique is bare after Christmas, leather-wise. Nothing much left to clean up anyway.

Yes there was no price increase on silks in 2013, so I'm in fear of a catch-up increase of twice the normal increase. I don't care about 10% on carrés, but on mousseline GM and cashmere shawls, :shucks:.
After all, we're still buying anyway.
Sad sad sad but can't agree more! We are still buying anyways!!! NO, no I'm on Ban Island.

I am in Europe and Cashmere GMs were definitly less last year, € 860 and now they are € 875...
The same with the Constance Wallet, about 2900 last year, this year more than 3000....

The same items in the online store were sold at the new Prices after 1st of January.....
And there definitely will be a price increase, according to my SAs here in France. As it is every year...

My SA said price increases will be around 6% and will be staggered and rolled out on different product categories starting in the new year. In other words, not everything in one go.

My SA just emailed me that there will be a price increase as of January 13th. Don't know if this date just applies to just the USA or is worldwide. Also, she didn't mention the amount of the price increase, just the effective date.

Last time I was at H KOP (just before Christmas), I overheard a SA tell a client on the phone that everything is increasing by 6% in the store in January. I didn't hear a date, though.

Ugh, I'm with you on dreading the burn of GM increases. :sweatdrop:

Although I do still buy H new from the boutique year after year, I spend less and less there each year with these price increases, even though my income has risen since I first discovered H. It was just so much easier for me to justify spending $$ there when I could get quite a number of beautiful pieces-- now that I can only get a few pieces for the same money, I'm vastly more inclined to get my jollies with vintage pieces. But I realize I'm not exactly H's target customer-- I'm not even a drop in their revenue bucket-- more like a molecule in a drop in the bucket-- and I have no doubt they'll eventually price me out of the boutiques completely. Good thing I have good luck hunting older pieces-- although maybe not as much luck as you, Chestnutty! :amuse:
