Price of the Evelyne?

My take is that the Evelyn is quite a casual bag. It comes with a canvas strap and most women wear it cross body, though I sometimes wear it as a shoulder bag. For the price I really like this bag, especially for running casual errands like trips to Target, Petsmart, etc. I also feel that it makes a casual ensemble, like what you would probably wear to an amusement park or movie theater with the family, more dressy than wearing a non-H bag. Technically I could get along with out an Evelyn because I have bolides which come with a shoulder strap, but there are just times when I like the wider strap and the cross body look.
At the end of the month DH and I are taking DS tent camping in Yosemite and I'll be bringing Miss Evelyn along for the trip. If I have to tent camp with the boys they at least have to take me for a meal at the Awhnee Hotel. I think this will be a functional, classic bag to wear that doesn't seem out of place in such a rustic setting.

Thank you LaurieAnn this has been very helpful. I have decided that I am in need of one of these, and the haunt has begun. I need to figure out what color I want and if I want a combo. I know I want the pm or pm2 as I feel the Gm will be too big for me. I so need the search fuction to work to see more gorgeous evelyne's on people. I am in agreement with you, this bag will be an excellent alternative to wear "running" around with the kids. I am excited. I will let you know what I decide, and ask questions as they hit me LOL~. I usually like larger bags (Birkin and Kelly 35 cm and Bolide 37 cm) but because of where the bag hits near the hips a smaller bag was just much more in propotion for me. I would love to have one with a toile combo as well. That may be my next Hermes bag. If you want to see some different bag combinations fancydiamond has some available on ebay currently.
BTW, I'm really loving the globe scarf ring. That's me that took that little treasure off your hands.

...I had no idea! I am so glad you are enjoying it. I have decided I just wasn't going to use it. I am so glad it went to youYou have been so helpful with the evelyne and I am not a Big bag type of gal. I have tried on a Birkin 35 and feel it is too big for me, so I think the PM must be where it is at for me. I have been oogling those Evelynes...gorgeous. I need to look over my Hermes bible and check out all the stlyes in the next week. I am hoping to secure one before my trip in June.

Hi Ghost, just for reference I am in lust with my Olive GM2 in clemence since I bought it right before the last increase, just have been wearing it almost everyday... Keep on swearing that I will rotate for the birkin and kelly but always have some excuse...for reference I am about 5'6" and on the curvy end of the spectrum
My friend has also fallen in love with the evelyne (she's about 5'3" and on the thin end of the spectrum). She tried on all the styles at Wall Street and settled on the PM2 in clemence, as it fit her to a tee.

I highly recommend that you try to get the PM2. With all of your beautiful rainbow items you'll need the extra space!! That large outside pocket is just soooo handy!!
Ghost55, the evelyne would be a perfect bag for you. From the pictures I've seen of you, it would be a great casual mommy on the go swanky bag. Good luck finding one. After viewing, holding and modeling one yesterday at the Houston H boutique, it's growing on me as a perfect travel buddy.

This thread finally convinced me that I need an Evelyne as well to keep my hands free for my 18 month old. My store did not have any in the pm with the outer pocket, but my SA was able to locate it at another store so I just did a charge send. I ended up with etoupe and she should arrive any day now. JP~ Congrats on getting an Evelyne! I am awaiting a call from my SA to discuss which would be best for me. I wouldlove the PM2..just for the reasons stated earlier by Kallie. Post pics when you get your new bag..I would love to see it and CONGRATS!
