Finally got this pencil case to match my collection. This has slipped thru my fingers twice and I was able to grab it with my kung fu grip this time. My kisslock coin purse in this print will be here Monday. 2 more pieces to find and my coach Peyton set will be complete…

Love the colors. And I can understand your need to coordinate your accessories and
also choose colors/patterns that make them easy to find inside your handbags.

My only 'advice' is DON'T FALL DOWN THE ACCESSORIES RABBIT HOLE'.
Been there, done that. I used to be content with just 2 or 3 sets of accessories
(and SLG's, small leather goods). Black, wine, and blue worked with all my
handbags and were good for all seasons. I changed out my handbags several
times a week, but the accessories only every few months (it's such a pain).

Then, i was introduced to forums and YouTube and I was bitten by the accessories
collector bug... the need to match/coordinate my accessories with my handbag
color (and take into account the handbag lining color too!). Fast forward a few
years and I have several cartons of handbag accessories (wallets, credit card cases,
eye glass cases, cosmetic cases, wristlets, etc.). It's still a pain to change them out,
and it's also time consuming to haul out the boxes and sort thru them and
coordinate the accessories with each other and the handbag exterior and interior.

Life was much simpler before. Now if I don't take the time to style the handbag
and accessories I'm not as 'content' with the result. Never bothered me before.
No one sees the inside of my handbag but me. Yes, the perfectly styled handbag
and accessories are lovely.... but I'm not sure they are worth the investment of
funds or time or storage space.

And don't get me started on the uselessness of thin wristlets as handbag accessories.
We need to bring back cosmetic cases with a wider base so that you could get
more than 1 or 2 things inside.

And I'll also add that the more accessories we pile into our handbags, the heavier the
handbags become. Yes, they handbags are beautifully organized and coordinated... but all
that extra leather or coated canvas, etc. adds a lot of weight to our already heavy
handbag and its contents.

My advice, enjoy your new accessories, but don't get too carried away.

Thank you. I can understand going overboard with this cute little pouch or that pretty wallet. I got those 2 pouches at the outlet and I regret the red pebbled double zip wristlet already. I wanted it in Florentine navy to match my birthday satchel, but they didn’t have any. My goodness I’m back in her and I just can’t keep her out of my lap. So since the red double zip is new I’ll probably sell it or gift it and get the Florentine double zip at Black Friday or Christmas sales…. i love the function of the double zip and the size. It was the only one at the outlet and since it was red I felt it would go with the accessories I already have. I really don’t need the navy Florentine double zip since I have this red pebbled but I know I would love it more.

i totally agree with thin wristlets being a waste. I have one and stopped using it. I looked at the kisslocks but they didn’t do it for me. I looked at the dooney coin cases but they are too small to hold all my coins… geez the amount of coins in my purse probably weighs more than the pouches/wristlets…. I don’t change my pouches, like I change my handbags so I don’t think I will indulge in them too much. I don’t care about them matching my handbags. But I did want this set because I love the look of it. It will go in every handbag and when I see this print it makes me happy.

This pencil case was the first in that print i saw and fell in love with it and based my collection on this pencil case. I have enough pouches. I don’t use wallets. I have a vintage coach skinny case for my dollar bills. A coach multifunction key case for small bags, too small for my keys, but holds cards and cash. I have 2 card cases and won’t get anymore in those.
no worries about me and the slg train. Now florentine handbags are a different story and we need to really talk more about cultivating collections… as I’m new to dooney Florentine I am in enchanted, mesmerized, and totally hooked.
mantra inserted here *I DON’T need every handbag that I see and love, in every color.*

The last piece plus umbrella… I didn’t want to pay what the seller wanted for this make up case or the umbrella so they prolly won’t make it into my collection, unless it’s $25 or less. Seller wanted $60 for the umbrella… not today…

I know that the kisslocks and the coin cases are very popular. And of course,
I own a few of each. But they really don't work for me.
I can't open the kisslocks easily. Blame that on old fingers
and arthritis.

As for the coin cases, I bought them to use for credit cards,
but I don't find they hold very many. And with the 2 zippers, they are
pretty heavy, even when empty. Of course, I needed to collect a few
different colors before I learned that the coin cases don't work for me.
I carry cash, but very few coins. The coins are just too heavy and aside
from a parking meter, I don't use the coins anyway.

I prefer a wallet where
my bills are easily accessible rather than folding them into smaller spaces.
Cash is still welcome in a lot of places. Businesses pay a fee when consumers
use credit cards and other electronic payment methods. And yes, I understand
security and administrative issues/trade-offs the businesses have. But for tips,
small purchases, and small stores.... cash is still often very welcome.

The coin cases are sooooooooo darn cute, but I feel its a waste of money, that I could be using to buy a new handbag. lol I wouldn't use it. I don't keep a lot of cash so my coach skinny case works well for my unfolded bills, super slim and takes up no room. I've had it since 1988. The Dooney kiss locks looked awkward to me. I handled them at the outlet and I just couldn't imagine how I would use it. The card slots and all that open space was a no for me. Way too big for coins and I would never put dirty coins with anything but coins in a pouch.

I will be posting the winning items I was bidding on in the Florentine clubhouse whenever they arrive. I'm excited to add these 2 to my collection. I am loving the Bordeaux Smith bag. My MacBook Air 15in fits perfectly. I'm glad that she made it into my collection. I want to try the small Logan drawstring, but I haven't found one that hits my great price sweet spot.

LJ I was really not happy with my Tilton in chestnut. I pre-ordered in navy. Its processing and should be a NEW bag, tags and factory plastic included... I went back into the Florentine clubhouse and looked at the pictures of the Tilton that were posted. I like the chestnut, but I LOVE the navy... shipping says oct 14.... When it gets here I will be making a video of the unboxing like I did with the chestnut.
and of course I will be revealing it in the forum.
Have a blessed day...

Hope your navy Tilton exceeds all your expectations.
Glad you like the Smith bag. It was a very popular style and Dooney
released it in several different leather and in nylon!

Recently I saw
the Smith on QVC in pebble leather... back from the vault.
It's nice to see the beautiful older styles again and I hope they
keep releasing them... even if it's limited to QVC or the Dooney site.

I’ve never shopped qvc. Are they more expensive than dooney website? I’ve seen them say qvc exclusive and ive noticed they had smaller versions of certain bags. They have a small smith bag and the big one. I had to really look and make sure my smith wasn’t the 13 in small smith.
seems like they’re making the older Toledo satchels in pebbled leather. They are beautiful, all the pretty colors. I Can’t wait to see what’s included in the Black Friday sale and 12 days of dooney. Looking at the older posts, all the lovely Florentines from the sales has got me excited. I can’t wait

Think of QVC as an online major department store... with the advantage of live programming. Dooney has been selling bags on QVC for almost 25 years. Like any
large customer, they work with manufacturers to get exclusive items, or better prices
for large volume purchases. They are also able to negotiate design changes to tailor the
bags to their customers in terms of feature preferences and pricing. And there is often
good info to be found during the presentations (by Dooney reps) and some of the details
on the QVC web site. Even if you don't catch a live presentation, you can sometimes find
them stored on the QVC site or even on YouTube.

So, Dooney bags on QVC are the same quality as any other department store. That said, you need to pay attention to dimensions and leather and other details. It's too easy to assume, as I have done, that the bag you are seeing is the same as the one on Dooney or ILD or even the one you already have at home. Production changes over time plus the
customization done for this large 'store' means the bag may be better or not.... added
zippers, 3 part strap, or change in leather, or dimensions. And just to add to the mix,
Dooney and QVC may or may not measure the bags in the same way..... this has gotten
better over time, but still there can be differences. The Dooney site is very specific
in how bags are measured, but may retailers and other handbag companies measure
the widest part of the bag even if it's the top, while Dooney measures the length across
the bottom. This can make a huge difference is the size and usable space in a bag that's
not a perfect rectangle or one that is unstructured.

As for quality, I don't think there is a difference between QVC and Dooney or ILD. That said, like any department store QVC accepts customer returns and they don't do a perfect
job in screening out returned bags that my have issues or been carried. And since all the bags are mass produced, quality control isn't perfect. In my personal experience, I've
seen the same quality (and rare issues) from Dooney, ILD, QVC, and other major department stores.

As for pricing, QVC is usually list price, same as Dooney for comparable/same item.
QVC runs sales and does clearance pricing, and usually those special prices last only
for a very short period of time. QVC also sells 'as is' (clearly identified) for items
that are returns or presentation demo models. Of course, not all returns make it
into the 'as is' grouping. Many ladies have had great luck buying QVC 'as is' Dooney
bags and say they are generally in great condition and they have same some $$.
Everyone has a different comfort level for a handbag that is not 'factory fresh'....
for some the $$ saved is important, for other they want the full brand new
experience. And some buy preloved bags (not on QVC) and aren't put off by
the fact that they have been handled and used for long periods of time.

Lastly, while you do pay for shipping and returns on QVC, their 30 day return policy makes
it a lower risk place to order a new style or color that you might not be totally sure about.
QVC is very reputable, and I've found their customer service good to deal with over the years.

Hope this helps.

Thank you it helps a lot. I had no idea qvc was like a dept store. I just thought of it as shop from the tv at 4 am cause nothing else is on. I'm not sure where to find qvc in my channel line up... I'll have to look for it. As I'm always on YouTube, I see the older qvc videos. I'm in awe at all the colors that they offered in the Florentine presentations. It's great they're kinda archived on you tube. I see colors I would like and start my search. I wish they offered the violet, plum, crimson, ocean, sunflower, lavender and denim colors still. So pretty, vibrant, and very hard to find. Seeing these colors on qvc makes me wish Dooney caught my eye years ago. But I could not see past coach. Now I look at coach and nothing really catches my eye. They're bringing back all their old style into their new collection and I feel like the vintage originals look way better... I guess it's the full grain leather, vintage look I love.

Hope your navy Tilton exceeds all your expectations.

I would love to have a smith in nylon. people were asking for ridiculous prices, as much as the prices for the leather smith. I'm not paying leather prices for nylon or plastic...

if the navy Tilton looks anything like the pictures in this forum I'll be extremely happy. I feel that Dooney should have a clearance section for used returns or send them to ild. That way we know when we purchase, that it is a returned used bag. As I was thinking about that chestnut Tilton I got angry. That bag was used before being returned, had remnants in the pockets, and that's not right to send out a used bag when I paid for a new one. If they are gonna do that, at least put a tag on it and re wrap it. I like to keep my tags in the bag with date of purchase and what I paid. Even with the sale, that bag was NOT cheap. Even on the second hand market I know the bag is used and I get tags, or I can get a net factory sealed... Sorry I'm getting worked up again. I haven't had any coffee yet. I better go get some
