I don't think (freebie) gifts have anything to do with the amount they receive. I bought 1 perfume from the lafayette counter and got a a small H orange vert toilette bag with hotel size travel sample of that scent and similar sized shower gel. Also I she gave me all kinds of pamphlets in three french and english. She was very nice though and I had a long chat with her reg. regular H and that counter. She also said that everything they sell there is actually cheaper than in FSH (which is baiscally perfume outside of the hermessence collection).

I did got a perfume sample when I first time visit Hermes store, I just bought a scarf there. And second time, I spend over 2000 USD, got nothing. But from that, I always ordered stuff by phone call or email with my SA, when I receive the package, I always can find some perfume sample, scarf catalog and extra shopping bag if I asked.

I received a few purse size perfume spray and a 'How to tie' scarf booklet. That's all I can recall. I think one of our member ever received a cute keychain from his/her SA.

I can't help but say that I am a tad concerned about where this thread is about and where it's heading ... Not all customers are the same, and certainly every SA is different too. Some SAs show their appreciation to their good customers by scoring the earth for the things that their customers want i.e. giving their customers priority over others, without actually gifting.

And there are others who are actually managers or directors who may have more discretion to give gifts.

And there are others who will give customers scarf knotting cards, copies of Le Mondes, scarf booklets, perfume samples etc, (stuff with no commerical value)

How can we compare? And is it fair to compare? I think comparisons will only bring some unpleasant feelings ...

I think you have a very good point. I totally agree.

I have received all kinds of gifts from my SAs over the years...
I never expect anything but sometimes, and that is random from my point of view , but that can be quite rational from the store point of view, I get samples or true gifts , even discounts...but most of the time nothing !

I always make it clear that I apprecaite what is given, no matter if it is a little something, or a priority in getting something I've looked for....

Generally speaking, I think it is quite normal to be given a little something when you spend a certain amount in any store... From your car dealer to your cosmetic desk at NM.... Hermes should not be any exception ....

I have never received a gift on large purchases (nor small ones, for that matter). Once, I did get champagne and chocolates while I was shopping. That was nice. The chocolates were beautiful! They were H chocolates. Has anyone else seen the chocolates? They taste wonderful, too!
