"presents" from your SA???

The SA who gave me the bottle of perfume I have to say was one of the all time sweetest SAs I've ever worked with. Unfortunately she left to go on to bigger and better things (and I hope she's reading this!)

I've received le mondes and perfume samples too.

I THINK perfume samples, le monde and scarf knotting cards can be given by the SAs to customers with "no charge", but if they want to get their clients stuff they have to shell out of their own pockets. I think it was PBC? that received a leather photo holder for christmas one time.

That being said, I was offered champagne at the Toronto opening....

I often find biggish sample bottles of their various perfumes tucked in a box with my purchases, and sometimes they give those bottles of perfume that look like necklaces for me to give my daughters. Once the Rodeo Drive store sent me a beautiful orchid plant as a thank you token which was a lovely surprise.

I could consider myself as a "good" customer who always quick to purchases and shop pretty often. BUT I have never received or been offered with any gifts, NOT EVEN PERFUME SAMPLES OR SCARF BOOKS!! Is it because of SAs or stores?

I really envy those of you who often receive perfume samples or little extra goodies with purchases! I am not really interested in those but you know, just the feeling of being offer something extra that makes my purchase more pleasant and happier!

ohh why and why...... :sweatdrop:

I can't help but say that I am a tad concerned about where this thread is about and where it's heading ... Not all customers are the same, and certainly every SA is different too. Some SAs show their appreciation to their good customers by scoring the earth for the things that their customers want i.e. giving their customers priority over others, without actually gifting.

And there are others who are actually managers or directors who may have more discretion to give gifts.

And there are others who will give customers scarf knotting cards, copies of Le Mondes, scarf booklets, perfume samples etc, (stuff with no commerical value)

How can we compare? And is it fair to compare? I think comparisons will only bring some unpleasant feelings ...

MrsS You are right as usual!!!

Besides perfume samples and the various catalogues, I was once given an orange umbrella by my SM, as it was pouring with rain, and I didn't have one with me......! That was the first and last time I received a gift at H!!!!

Having been in the "high-end" retail world (OK a very long time ago) I'd venture to say that the SA at Chanel likely paid for those gifts (granted with her employee discount) or possibly received them as "bonuses" from management for a top-selling achievement. And the same probably goes for the few other gifts members here have mentioned, except for the freebies that have already been listed. A typical salesperson depends on their commission for income. Some know that when they provide great service that engenders loyalty, and on occasion, some may spend some of their own income or gifts to show appreciation of their relationship with consistent customers. My point is, those gifts were not "free" to the SA.
