Hi !
I was wondering maybe a stupid thing... but I would like to share my doubts with you.
When I bought my first Birkin, in November 2007, I payed with visa card, which for the store meens that they are getting less money as they pay a % to the bank. So if I payed 5200 € they would get around 100 € less.My SA gave me a small box with a perfume.
Then in February I bought anothe birkin, a 30 that cost me 4950 € that I payed by bank transfer, so they got the full amount. This time they didn't offer me anything.
In July I bough a scarf (250? €)
And in August my husband bought another 35 birkin ( 5350 €), and again no small present.
I didn't expect anything the first time, but then I thought they did it usually for big buyings as a birkin...but I guess I was wrong...?:shrugs:

Do you usually get small presents from your SA when you get an important item?
Of course I don't expect anything for a scarf, but if I was the manager of a store I wound for sure give some small present ( a twilly maybe, a perfume...) to a customer that has spent 15750 € in less than a year in my store...
Please share your experiences and thoughts about this....!

I have spent more than that in one visit on a number of occasions in various boutiques around the world (Asia, Europe, US) and never got anything. I don't think Hermes is in the business of gift-giving. I even had to ask for scarf knotting cards, rather than be offered.

I was offered soft drinks, on occasion, if that counts...

While I have received knotting cards and perfume samples etc I have never been given anything else no matter how much I have spent or by which means I have paid.

No gifts. I did receive knotting cards and perfume samples.

I will say when I bought a few bags from Chanel from the SA in a short amount of time (plus referred people), she sent me three very nice items. Chanel No. 5 body lotion, Chanel Coco Madamoiselle Parfum and Body Oil. I was very pleased with that. They were all large sizes too.

no gifts to me either, other than samples, scarf booklets, knotting cards and le monde. i wouldn't expect to receive anything as there are so many, many people that are true vip's. everyone has been truly lovely to me so i count that as a gift!

I did receive a large bottle of Hermes perfume with one Birkin I purchased. I think the fragrance had just been introduced so I'm sure it was just a courtesy. They don't give gifts. I think they start to expect them from us though.

I have received. I was shocked.the gift wasn't small. I have a few SA over the world but I can see myself already want to buy everything from her.(It's hard, you know what i mean) but try to give her more''business''in the future. for example, all those gift thing, DH's stuff.etc.

oh you were lucky then!
Well you know, it is not that I want them to give me anything because I buy from them... :p
it is just that as she gave me the sample of perfume with the very first purchase, I was surpriced that they didn't do it again... :shrugs:
I thought maybe they did it if you buy a bag or something, but I can see that normally they don't do presents.
I get a nice treatment from them when I visit the store, even if i am not going to buy. I think this is the most important thing, make the customer feel confortable, even if she/he doesn't get anything.
