Since you have both, how practical is the mini compared to the full size? I want a mini but I am wondering how much can a mini hold and is it hard to get things in and out. I'm used to the full size one and I prefer medium bags over small.

I’ve been using the neuf mini for quite some time so I’m more used to that than the regular size. At this point, I prefer the mini neuf because of its perfect crossbody size. It’s proportionate to my 5’3” height and 0-2 body type. I have to say though I didn’t quite like it at first because of the super tricky narrow opening, but after a while the leather gets soften and it has become easier to get things in and out. If you can find a good angle to put your things in (vertically then horizontally), it surprisingly holds a lot more than one can imagine. And this is coming from someone who normally carry a lot. It does hold a lot more than the Dix which appears wider in appearance. I can fit my iphone 13 pro (the pro max should fit as well), medium sized wallet (I think long wallet is doable too with the right angle), a pack of napkins, hand sanitizer, facial spray, and a few lipsticks/pens/candies. It should already be packed at this point. For me it’s nice for daily essentials, and very cute. It seems to hold its neuf shape better than the big sister.

Two sizes serve different purposes, but if I can only have one, I think I personally prefer a mini neuf! You might wanna give it a try! :D

You make me so tempted now!!! The mini neuf in glacier is gorgeous.
To be absolutely honest though, it sounds like the same (or just slightly more) amount of things I could potentially stuff into my huit mini / beri so I definitely don’t need another small bag arg…
(But since when is a bag a need instead of a want? Hahaha ok but I promised my husband to pause the bag purchases for now)

I'd like to know as well! The Neuf is on my wishlist, but I am not sure what size will suit me best.

This is a comparison of the two sizes I posted earlier in another thread. Hope it helps!

mini neuf:

Regular neuf:

To me, the height of the full sized neuf is not too big or overwhelming for someone my height, but I think the width makes it super bulky. It definitely will stick out if you do a crossbody - looks much better under the crook of an arm. The bag is about a M/L size. The capacity is super spacious. If you hold more than the (my) essentials, say you also carry a portable umbrella, full sized bottle of water, books/ipads; you may want to go with the full sized neuf. One thing I like is that it is full leather but the bag itself is not very heavy (650 grams) for the size. It’s a great size for traveling.

Two sizes sure serve different purposes, but if I can only have one, I will choose a mini neuf!

hahahahahaah I totally understand!! It’s become my need instead of want these days too. Just really couldn’t get it out of my cart and my mind, lol. I’m about to receive my mini huit in a few hours —so excited to explore what could fit in it. I’ll also keep you posted between the capacity of the mini huit and the mini neuf if u want to hear about it. :D

Hello Neuf fans! So, I think I finally realized what has been so 'off' about the Neuf. It's not that the bag is too big or not a great cross body....it's the wimpy strap that comes with it!! A super thin strap on a somewhat wide bag visually makes the bag look huge. That's why whenever you'd see photo's of my bag, you would see various other straps like the chain one from 'Dress Up Your Purse', and then there's the Rebecca Minkoff LOVE cross body strap. Even using those, something still didn't feel right. Well, I discovered Cuyana sells shoulder straps! They have wide ones and regular ones. Since my bag is black, I knew the color match would be perfect. I bought the wide shoulder strap for about $78.00-money well spent if you ask me. If you look close up at the pebbled leather of the strap, the 'pebbles' are larger than the bags pebbles, but who's looking that close?? They do have some other colors that 'resemble' colors of Polene but it might not be exact. I knew as soon as I opened the package that I found my perfect strap!! I'm so excited to share this with you all! Now, 'visually' the bag doesn't look quite so wide...and Polene, I hope you are paying attention to this because the strap that comes with the Neuf is ridiculous!! Without further ado, check out my 'new' bag!! :yahoo:

You know, I didn't think the thin strap was that great either, but I figured they chose that over a thick strap to not overwhelm the Neuf's design. But seeing yours makes me wonder why they don't offer thick straps. It looks so good! Reminds me of what I like about the Celine Sangle Seau. Thank you for sharing!!

Maybe I'll start shopping around for thick straps...

Thank you @poleneinblack ! The strap that comes with the large Neuf is all wrong in my opinion. Although, it looks fine with the mini Neuf. Even if they used a 1" thick strap, it would have made a world of difference. I personally prefer this much thicker strap with this bag....and what's so great about it (besides being extremely well made) is I can use that strap on other various black leather bags. But speaking of the Celine Seau Sangle....they should have put an all leather strap on that bag for the price. Let me know if you end up getting one!!

I guess thin strap is practical if one prefers hand or arm carry but wants to bring along a shoulder/cross body strap for certain situations... Thin strap takes up very little space in bag.

But then I would prefer it to have swivel hooks so it was quick an easy to attach / detach.

Cuyana also has thinner straps with the swivel hooks:
