Hi, TPF Fam!

I have debated over this for a few months, and would like to make a decision.

I would like to purchase a small bag for travel and/or going out purposes, and I am torn between the Pochette NM (maybe with a long strap?) and Eva Clutch. I like pieces that I can dress up or down, in a variety of situations. And I am a top-zip girl, so the Favorite is not for me. Is there something else that I'm not considering??? If so, LMK.

I have determined that I need my bag...any bag...to hold the following items, at a minimum:

1. Cles/cardholder
2. Lipgloss
3. Sunglasses (Ray Bans in their case)
4. Keys
5. Phone ( I currently have the iPhone 6)

I'm also vacillating between Mono and DE prints. So, your insights/feedback/photos/etc. are greatly appreciated.

Hope you have a safe, and happy new year!

Hmm. I am having the same debate. For me the Favorite beats the two. If you get the Eva Mono might be better since the plaque is smaller. To me the price of the pochette is better but the chain and long strap of the Eva is more classy and versatile. If I buy the pochette and have to buy a strap it be as pricey as the Eva. Unless you have some already. So Eva in Mono would be best, I think.

I just used my pochette (old style) today with a long strap as a cross body. I have had it for many years, and forgot just how much I love it (I bought it in Paris which may add to my love) I love that it is so simple...no plaques, gold chain etc. I fitted in my phone, lipstick, mc cles, mono cles small tissues and small wetwipes (I have small children) and it was perfect. So light. Oh, also a Mac powder was in there too. It is pricey now if you buy the long strap aswell, but I also tend to put it in larger bags as a pouch or use it as a clutch, so is just as versatile, if not more than the Eva. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either.

I have both the Eva and the pochette nm.
Pros of DE pochette nm: no gold plate to take care of, inside pocket for cash or cards, grab and go casual look, very light and practical. Lovely red interior for DE. Good price. You can use long strap from other de bags.

Pros of DE Eva : comes with long strap for Crossbody (make sure you're tall enough), gold plate makes it prettier, gold chain for formal events. Can use as shoulder or clutch or Crossbody.

Cons of pochette: plain looking, intertwined strap.

Cons of Eva: more expensive, gold plate will scratch eventually, no internal pocket. Very long strap.

Thanks for your reply, AlbertsLove! If you are okay with magnetic flap closure on your bag, then you could absolutely do the Favorite. I need quick, easy access to my bag contents. So, flaps are not my favorite (no pun intended).

Can anyone confirm whether or not the 5 items that I listed will fit into the bags that I am torn between? Is there another option that I'm missing?

For me, the capacity for sunglasses makes or breaks the bag deal. I live in a place that's sunny year-round. And for travel, I would certainly want to secure all of my essential items inside my bag for safety and portability purposes.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks ladies! Great feedback/insights! Can you confirm whether or not my 5 essential items will fit inside both bags?

I am 5'7". So, I am not worried about strap length on Eva. The DE plate scares me a little though. I wonder if I should get both the DE Eva and the Mono Pochette NM. Is there room for both? Or would I be compromising because of the lack of capacity for sunnies in the Pochette NM???

How do you use your items, Viewwing? Which do you use more? Is the DE Eva plate scratch-factor a deal-breaker or manageable?

I have both the Pochette NM and Eva clutch.

I think all the items you listed will fit (of course depends on size of sunglasses and if they are in a case). BUT something I have noticed is that fitting things in the Eva is more difficult than the Pochette in terms of ease. The Eva is curved and has those beautiful pleats but sometimes things so fit quite exactly as I want them. It's kind of like a tetris game. With the Pochette, it is easier because the Pochette stands up, has a firm base, and is a rectangle shape. Thus, taking things in and out of the Pochette is easier.

But I have the Eva because I love how classy it looks. It is my go to evening back and I also use the crossbody strap as well. Yes the front plate gets scratched up but I got over that pretty quickly. You can barely tell unless you inspect your plate closely.

Good luck!!!

I have a pouchette which I can put in
- a coin purse
- iPhone 5
- tissues
- hand wipes
- Ray Ban sunglasses which I put in a microfibre sunglasses pouch
- Clinique lip balm.
I carry the pouchette in my mm never full and I have a long chain that I have bought from eBay. I use my neverfull for work but take my pouchette out with the long chain as a cross body if I pop out for lunch or coffee. I use my pouchette a lot more often since I have gotten the long chain. Good luck with your decision

I have an old model mono pochette that I wear with a long LV vachetta strap when I need to be hands free & it's surprisingly roomy.

I don't have a pair of Ray Bans but I know it's a skinnier sunnies case than the norm so it may work. My recommendation is to go to LV with your stuff & test it out before deciding. It may take a minor game of Tetris to get it all in there but I'm constantly surprised at how much I can fit in my pochette. It's a great little grab & go bag ❤️

The five items you listed as your " must haves" will fit in pochette nm. I have the pochette in mono, and I plan on buying it in DE. It's a very useful bag! I use it for going to casual dinner, movie, and on vacation. As others have mentioned, it can be used in larger bags too. It can be dressed up a bit with the gold LV key chain/ charm used as a bag extender. This is very pretty. You can also purchase a long strap for crossbody use. I'm 5'3 105# and Eva strap is too long for me. I wear pochette nm on my shoulder and its a cute little bag. GLD

I have both and carry exactly the same things. Those items will fit in both. I wear my pochettes more casual and use the eva straps to use them crossbody. My Eva's are more for dressy, dinners out. HTH
